...Captain Phillips Captain Phillips was really an inspiring movie, considering the fact that it was based on true incident in 2009. I wasn’t aware about this incident before watching the movie. Captain Phillips was indeed brave and a true leader who held himself hostage in order to keep his crew and ship safe from the pirates and getting himself rescued in the end. After the movie and the class discussion, I got to learn some important learning which are important in day to day life of a leader. Captain Phillip’s anticipating and preparing himself before any incident took place ensuring the ship doors were locked and the crew was ready for any unseen event. This shows he learnt from his experience and prepared for the worst. Also staying calm and focused and not creating a panic is important during attacks and disaster. He inspired me how he was protective about his crew even though he dint knew everyone in person. This made him earn their trust. He also was smart to let the crew know where he was moving with the pirates in the ships and also giving them clues as to how the crew could fight with the pirates making their weakness as the crew’s strength. He let the pirates take him as hostage in order to make sure being a captain, his ship and crew would be safe. There were two leaders in the movie, one was Captain Phillip’s and other was Musa. Both were different kind of leaders. Captain Phillip’s was more planned and knew what he was doing. But, Musa was an aggressive leader...

...acceptance, or, if no time is so prescribed, by the lapse of a reasonable time, without communication of acceptance. In the case of Ramsgate Victoria Hotel Co Ltd v Montefiore, the applicant had applied for shares but was not told until a certain date that his offer had been accepted and allocated to him. Now the balance owing on the shares was due. So the applicant refused to pay and the company threatened to sue him alleging breach of contract. It was stated that the offer to purchase shares had not been accepted within a reasonable time and the offer had therefore lapsed. Therefore, no contract was created. Thus, Peter Pan revocation letter of offer by post is effective as against Captain Hook. He wrote his revocation letter on the 22th of April, the date before Captain Hook’s acceptance letter which is on the 26th of April. A revocation letter is not effective if the proposer send the letter after the date of...

...saves lives but isn't a doctor. He has bullet proof protection but don't confuse him for the wimpy FBI. Fighting for the red, white, and blue he is living symbol for freedom, but don't confuse him with the president. Captain America- despite him being a super soldier- provides idealistic life and morality: he is a strong role model for americans and always views things on the bright side, while being a great leader. He is not only the best superhero ever but gives hope to everyone and provides a positive message on never giving up. He started from the bottom of the pit and never gave up; he became the best “man” he could, even though he had a little help from science. Transforming his life to be accepted, volunteering to become a super soldier, accepting his new reality, Captain America never gives up. People look up to him because he started off not accepted by societies view; he was a scrawny malnourished man that got rejected multiple times. Even though he had the help of military science, the olympic athlete abilities and physical attractiveness gave people hope that if they never give up they can succeed at anything they want. He is still human though. “ But we are also human beings, with feelings and emotions.” (page 59 Our Superhero Ourself) says Captain America, this shows people that even though he has this special ability he can relate to how humans feel and how tough it is to over come that specific standard. People can relate to him after the science experiment just...

...BOY HOWDY. CAN I???? Bucky and the reader have been dating for a while and recently moved into an apartment together in the Avengers tower. Reader was in charge of the decorating and didn’t keep Bucky’s arm in mind when decorating their fridge and wakes up to a rather hilarious surprise. I purposely didn't specify the gender of the reader so, yeah, anyone can be the reader. “Y/N!” you heard your new housemate shouting from somewhere in the apartment. You scrambled out of bed and followed his voice. Bucky rarely shouted so when he did you knew it was important. Maybe something was wrong? Something always was around here. It’s like you guys never got a break. You practically sprinted into the kitchen and skidded to a stop. “Bucky what’s wrong?” you asked, out of breath. You looked at him and he had a very distressed look on his face. “You promise not to laugh?” he asked. You quirked up an eyebrow. If someone was wrong why would you laugh? “No….” you trailed. Let’s be honest. If whatever he was talking about was funny, you were gonna laugh. He rolled his eyes at you and slowly held out his metal arm. You examined it quickly then erupted into a fit of laughter. “Y/N!” Bucky pouted. “It isn’t funny!” You forced yourself to stop laughing so loudly and covered your mouth with your hand. You couldn’t help but snicker. Bucky had managed to get every refrigerator magnet you’d bought, stuck to his arm. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry,” you said, still snickering. “You're right it’s not funny...

...Nutrition Drive- Juice What is Nutrition Drive? Ask a captain or a person who regularly spends his/her evening on a sports field/court, you’ll certainly hear the problem of the not-so-nutritious diet made available to them in their hall mess & canteen. Our campus provides quality food at hostel level, no doubt. But those people who follow a rigorous routine of workouts, gym, road-running, weekly matches, this mess food doesn’t guarantee the total nutrition that should be. Nutrition drive is being initiated with this motive only. The Games & Sports Council wants every deserving player of its contingent to get the maximum benefit. How to begin? Every 6 days a week, from 8 30 to 9 30pm a juice stall would be booked in front of hall 3, specifically for sports people. The stall owner would be given a list of captain’s & vice-captain’s name on it. Students who are regular in practice and have attended the practice session on that day can avail this facility, this would be done under the supervision of the captain or the vice-captain, one of them has to be present along with them. Every sport that our campus students play has a different strength than the other. To account for this, number of students who can benefit from this activity would be limited & the thing most important to this, only regular students can utilize this opportunity. There can be 3 different types of Juices that can be provided, namely pineapple, orange & any other seasonal fruit...

...The Divinity of our Nation Topic Introduction: Explain why you chose this topic with the different example you witnessed after the bishop asked you to speak and the impression after reading 1776. Scripture: The Book of Mormon states, beginning in 1Nephi 2:20 that this is a choice land which we live in. I have found over 30 similar references throughout the Book of Mormon. 1. Explain that the Nephites and Jaredites were allowed to inherit this land under one condition: “he that doth possess it shall serve God or be swept off.” (Ether 2:10) a. Many understood this principle and headed the word of the Lord. Many did not. b. We learn from Mormon and Moroni of the great destruction of the Nephites because of their lack to obey the word of the Lord. (Moroni 9:19, part of 22-23) Our country in Modern days 1. God has again established this a choice nation a. People again have honored and dishonored our country 2. I would like to impress upon your minds the sacredness of our country. b. Speaking of the Constitution President Benson said: i. I want to pay tribute to those who laid the foundation of our Republic. I desire to bear testimony concerning one of the most vital principles that makes the work of the founders timeless and inspired. The framers of the Constitution were men raised up by God to establish this foundation of our government, for so the Lord has declared by revelation in these words: “I established the Constitution of this...

...opinions of loyal fans, teetering on the good and the bad. But, occasionally, one such film will come along that is less about superheroes with some human emotions, and more about humans with super abilities, forcing you to acknowledge that superheroes are people too, and say, “Now, that, was a movie.” Because at its heart, that’s what Captain America: Civil War is all about. Real people in real situations with some superhuman powers thrown in for good measure. The heart of the conflict is an ideological difference of opinion between the two sides, and in a surprising turn of events, it’s our very own law-abiding, orders-following Captain who’s opposing the decisions of the Government to pass the Sokovia Accords in the aftermath of their epic battle in Sokovia as shown in Age of Ultron. Thus, the Avengers, for the first time in Marvel history, stand divided, but it is heart-warming to see that despite it all, there exists zero animosity; it’s friends against friends, and no Accord can strain that relationship over a single night. But add to that a conspiracy involving Cap’s Achilles Heel, Bucky (played by the dashing Sebastian Stan), and you have Captain and his team rallying to protect him from being wrongfully tried for a crime he didn’t commit, turning them into outlaws, vigilantes, criminals…you name it. Jaw dropping action sequences have always been Marvel’s plus-point, and Civil War does not fail to disappoint in that (or any) category. Love Bucky or hate him, but you can’t...

...Bátori Anna . The Universal Message of the United States: The Hero and National Typology of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) „ A myth aims to synchronize individual and society (…) as well as eliminating bothersome ideas, ideas, which are indifferent towards the individual. This necessitates the passionate representation of the idea, (…) with thought always referencing something superior.”(Berkes-Nemes) Several genre films have been made which themes are interwoven with the Second World War: from this vast historical material, romantic films, historical dramas, crime films and even comedies have been made, but the opus titled Captain America: The First Avenger (Johnston, 2011) does more than any other of its companions: the story of the film adapted from comic shows more than an American hero can defeat everybody if it is about his country; in the meantime it does something that cinema has yet to endeavor: it elevates Hitler’s Germany to the level of miracles. It achieves this by putting a number of fantastic plot threads apart from the classic hero-rising story into the main plotline: the enemy of Captain America is a group called Hydra, who are in possession of an ancient material of vast magical capabilities, which is not only stronger than Hitler, but could destroy the whole world in the wrong hands. The familiar ‘the world is in danger and it must be saved by an American’ – story would not be interesting, if there was not a strong supplementary...

...tip him off as to the "Avengers Initative." There is a bigger picture, he told him -- and here it is: The be-all but not (they're hoping) the end-all of the current craze for CGI-enhanced superheroics. Interspersing flip one-liners with a host of larger-than-life characters and the usual flurry of fight-and-flight scenes, the film is never less than amusing. Still, it's never more than amusing either. Marvel Studios has made it a point of pride to diverge from the grim severity popularized in the DC / Warner Bros Batman films. The lightness is fun but it doesn't offer much of a foundation on which to build an epic. And let's face it, there's more than a whiff of opportunism about a project that pits a defrosted World War II hero, Captain America (Chris Evans), an inventor-industrialist, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the pagan lightning god, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a scientist with anger-management issues, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and SHIELD agents Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) against the Norse god of mischief, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and a legion of marauding aliens. In 3-D. Meet the boss of 'The Avengers' Chris Hemsworth is 'Thor' Chatting with the 'Iron Man 2' cast Still, Whedon (who shares a screenplay credit with Zak Penn) is a very sharp operator. He knows which buttons to press and where there's room for a little diversion. The improbability of this misfit coalition becomes the movie's most rewarding asset. Imagine the bristling egos...
