The longer people live, the larger the population of people over a certain age is going to be. While this may sound obvious, consider the fact that we're living about 10 years longer than we were, in general, not too long ago. That means there are more and more people in this demographic; this, despite the fact that the healthcare industry isn't matching the rate of growth with their number of workers.
