Career Plan Activities Reflection
As part of the requirement for the completion of University of Phoenix’s Management class (MGT/521), I had to start my career plan by completing the career interest profiler, competencies, work culture preferences, and the reasoning aptitudes assessments (Phoenix Career Services). The next steps I will take to complete my career plan are to list the skills that I desire and seek training, and keep my knowledge up-to-date in my field.
As part of the process of achieving my career goals, I have decided to pay special attention to the taking initiative and leading aspects of my career plan. My personality assessment results indicated that I possess an introvert personality (University of Phoenix, 2013). It can sometimes be difficult to express my thoughts to others but taking these steps will help me feel more comfortable with the interaction with others and with the exposure of my recommendations and ideas. It will also help me take the initiative in certain projects, and ultimately be a better leader, which are important qualities that a manager must possess to efficiently lead a group of employees.
Based on the results of the competencies survey (University of Phoenix, 2013), to complete successfully the courses that follow I need to focus on organizing and strategizing the required tasks. This will help me manage my time efficiently and will ensure that I complete assignments correctly and on a timely manner. Also, I will focus on my proactive skills and will take the lead when working on a team. I will also put this in practice in my work environment because it will help me improve my performance. The career plan assessments (Phoenix Career Services), have been a constructive tool that have helped me realize which are my strengths and how I can improve them. I plan on completing

Good managers are leader and know how to apply his or her competencies in any professional setting thereby leading by example. How might you need to change your communication techniques to work with the different functioning areas of your business? The four functional areas of business are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Most successful projects began with a manager and a vision to accomplish a particular project successfully. The project manager begins with a plan. A plan is a roadmap to follow to achieve mission accomplishment. How I would respond to the peace of the environment IV. How I would respond to rules and procedures set by others Most people are aware of and sensitive to the ways with which they prefer to be communicated. I am conscious that if I am able to communicate with other people I will succeed in any industry. I could begin by developing a chart where I include a description of the typical people in which I might interact. Also, I might have to practice some flexibility in varying my communication style with others that may be different from myself. This flexibility and the ability to interpret the needs of others is the mark of a superior communicator. For instance, when communicating with a person who is dependent, neat, conservative, perfectionist, careful and compliant: • Prepare my case in advance • Stick to business • Be accurate and realistic Factors that will...

Different Stages of Career Development Process Or, Cycles of Career Development Process VI. Career Development I. Career: Meaning & Elements Definition of Career Career is a sequence of attitudes and behaviors associated with the series of job and work-related activities over a person's lifetime. Yet in another way, it may be defined as a succession of related jobs, arranged in hierarchical order, through which a person moves in an organization. As the literal definition of career focuses on an individually perceived sequence, to be more accurate, career may be either individual centered or organization-centered. Therefore, career is often defined separately as external career and internal career. External career refers to the objective categories used by society and organizations to describe the progression of steps through a given occupation, while internal career refers to the set of steps or stages which make up the individual's own concept of career progression within an occupation. For such two different approaches, in organizational context, career can be identified as an integrated pace of vertical and lateral movement in an occupation of an individual over his employment span. Important Elements of Career Analyzing the definitional context, it...
