The 2012 FORBES list out the world’s most powerful women and these 20 leaders represent the year’s most powerful women in business. At the top of the list, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg ranks as the most powerful woman in business. 30-year IBM veteran Virginia Rometty who was tapped as CEO and becoming the first woman ever to lead the century-old tech giant with more than $100 billion in revenues is ranked at No. 4. Former eBay Chief Meg Whitman was ranked in No.6. We can see that women are sometimes more capable in a business world.

However, a recent report in Turkey shows that women quite their job after they went into a marriage. Maybe because of they can’t take the balance between their job and take care of their family. Parents play an important role in educates their children to behave in proper. Many cases on media show the impact of both working parents that took too less care on their children. So women are being encouraged to be a homemaker in such case.

There are many different arguments about a woman’s role, whether to work or just be a homemaker. It’s just like what I’ve mentioned earlier, women now are seek more achievement and successful in the career. In the past, women are not allow to get any education and must not successful than a man. However it is 20th century, a new technology advance era and women should not tied by this old bondage. They should run after what they want and achieve esteem and their self-actualization in their career.

In addition, women should not too dependent on man.

...scheduling as a common curtousy to men and women and probably works more effectivly than parental leave. I see parental leave as an easy way out when things get rough. If its a known option women, by nature, are going to be more tempted to utilize the option for their family. Thus, slowing their career. Question Two: I would choose participation. By all associated participating it allows all to be seen equally. Women specifically are very opinionated, therefore having the opportunity to give her thoughts would give her a better opportunity to self promote. Empowerment is a little more in depth and requires more time. Time apparently seems to be an issue with women in the industry, so having the participation method I see would be more effective. They attend the same mettings and voice what they see fit. Thus, taking "less" time for women to prepare their thoughts and enables them to "self promote". Question Three: I feel that my husband and I are actually at that point in our life. We are both college students, full time associates, homeowners, and want a family. We often discuss what our options would be when it came to parenting. How are we going to balance home, work, and childcare? If we weren't on the same page with the future we would sit down and listen to each other. We both must look at the others thoughts as valuable and reasonable. As the changing nature of world, career theory experiences major transition from time to time to achieve an applicable theory. This essay will discuss and analyse the literature about career theory in the early 21st Century. Sonnenfeld (1982) has described career theory as theory which attempts to explain occupational variables such as type of job and income or psychological variables such as job satisfaction and job-related stress. Career development began from Frank Parsons’ work where he predicts a person’s career choices from the his characteristics, including self-knowledge, career planning and “true reasoning”(Patton et al, 2006). Later, several aptitude tests were used in the assessment of unemployed workers which led to the development of trait-factor approaches. Fitzgerald (1992) suggested that the trait-factor approach can be attributed to the combination of Parsons matching models with the concepts and technology of individual differences. As consequences, trait-factor theory implies on the match or fit between individual’s characteristics and work environment , emphasizing on the relationship between knowledge about self and knowledge about environment (Betz, 1989). Collin (1986) has argued that the major thrust in career theory has centred on individual rather than on contextual factors. However, Holland’s (1959) research...
