In fact, from 1966 up to 1981, there was not a single opposition Member of Parliament (MP). Among other reasons, one compelling fact was the boycott of the Barisan Socialis in the 1968 elections, allowing the PAP to sweep the polls, capturing all 58 seats and garnering 84.4% of all votes. Since then, the PAP has not looked back, dominating all Parliamentary General Elections while the opposition has failed to make any significant inroads in the political scene. However, it should be noted that over the years, the PAP has had a few upsets along the way with J. B. The fibre takes the same amount of time to grow regardless of a product’s speed to market (in the case of cotton, around a year). Likewise the fibre takes the same amount of time to be spun, knitted or woven, cleaned, bleached, dyed, printed, cut and sewn; and the activity of going shopping and laundering the garment takes the same amount of time regardless of how speedily a design makes it from catwalk to high street retailer. Fast fashion is not really about speed; it is about selling more goods and making more money. Time is just one of the factors of production along with labour, capital and natural resources that get juggled and squeezed in the pursuit of maximum profits. But fast is not free. I think if everyone slowed down and cut out the distractions, pay attention to the road maybe less accidents would occur. I was in a really bad car accident when I was 17. It was a late night and I was heading to pick up and friend. I was driving a 1978 Monte Carlo. I was making a left hand turn, as I was doing so the light changed to red, and the guy that was heading towards me ran that light and hit me on the passenger side door. My left side of my head hit the driver’s side window, all of the impact from him hitting me jotted me out the passenger window, my car was on one side of the road on the side walk and I lying on the opposite side of the road on the sidewalk. Angel’s must have been with me that night. I was in a coma; my forehead was stitched up with 150 stitches. The first voice I heard was my mom’s asking how I was doing, I then heard the doctor tell my mom I may not make it. I was so happy to see my mom! I didn’t know who I was, where I was, or what happened to me but I recognized my mom right away. I am blessed to be alive!! I have been in 6 car accidents, but I only caused one.
