Caroline was born on the 30th of May 1808 to William Jones and Sarah Jones in Northampton, England. Her family was quite large due too many of her dads many marriages because all his wives died either through illness or during childbirth. Although Caroline was born in Northampton, her father was born in a village just south of Northampton, Wootton. Her father was a pig dealer and fattened then sold them for money. When her father died, Caroline was only 6. It had affected her childhood a lot. She then had to move into one of her siblings households as they quite older. She had 15 other siblings to move into. At the age of 22, 1830, she married Archibald Chisholm who was a Roman Catholic serving in the East India Company Army. When Archibald became quite ill, they moved to Windsor, Australia because of better conditions for Archibald’s health. The couple set sail for Sydney, arriving, October 1838. When they settled at Windsor, they went for trips to Sydney. Then, when the home was going well, the Home was extended for families’ and young men to join the woman. Caroline had been in Sydney for about 7 years and she had placed over 11,000 men, woman and families in homes and placed them in jobs as well. After this, she became a very well-known woman and everyone admired her for what she did for families etc. As she wanted to act independently, she never accepted money from any individual or individual organisations. Many of the people she helped came from different cultural backgrounds and had different beliefs.
