...Managements Role in Players Being Violent Jennifer Grant BUS/ December 3, 2012 Dr. David Snow Managements Role in Players Being Violent When sports first started up they were meant to be something fun, to relieve stress, and teach youth about working hard, time management, teamwork, and to build character (Champion, Ruddell, & Thornton, 2012). Over the years, sports have gotten more and more competitive. Sports should have a positive impact on our community and serve as entertainment. If entertainment to our society is violence and causing harm to others then we are living in a messed up world. Management plays a major role in this violence by either being to tranquil in how they handle violence or even if they are encouraging the violence. When I was growing up the sports I participated in taught me about sportsmanship, character, being a good loser and winner, showing respect to others, teamwork, hard work, time management, social skills and more. My coaches played a big part in that, they made sure that we played fairly, and always played with sportsmanship. The coaches that I played under were great role models and winning did not mean anything if we didn’t do it the right way. In high school, we made it to the final four twice, won district all four years, were regional runner-ups twice and won regionals twice. We were very successful and at no point was violence being encouraged, and if there was any bad sportsmanship or violence...

These stores trade thousands of commodities daily and customers are consuming these commodities at the cost of their revenue. It only dependents on the profits or income of the person, that to what extant and how many times he or she stopover for shopping with stores to purchase products. It is generally seen that punchers buy products which they have not planned and this phenomena of unplanned purchasing is known as impulse buying. Impulsive purchasing, usually explained as a consumer unplanned purchase which is an significant element of buyer behavior. It accounts for as much as sixty two percent of supermarket sales and eighty percent of all sales in definite product categories. Although impulsive purchasing has fascinated attention in consumer research. Unfortunately, there is a lack of research on group-level determinants. 1.1 RATIONALE OF THE STUDY In-store marketing is increasingly becoming an important part of promotion. Advertising is becoming highly diversified. Increased number of media channels has created a clutter for the consumer. Due to the increased demand, the media channels rates have gone up, as they enjoy higher viewership than before. ...Tesla Motors Strategic Analysis Report Industry, Company Analysis and Recommendations on Accelerating Transition to a Solar-Electric Economy By Candela Díaz, Michelle Ikoma, Benton Moss, John Son, David Valenstein Introduction The United States automobile industry is one characterized by incumbent behemoth corporations whose distribution channels span the world. Companies like Toyota, General Motors, and Volkswagen form entire segments of their respective countries’ economies and have dominated the auto industry for generations. Yet Tesla Motors, a company started in 2003, represents a disruptive threat characteristic of the information age in which industries are constantly challenged to innovate by smaller, more nimble firms. Led by Elon Musk–a serial entrepreneur who co-founded PayPal, serves at the helm of SpaceX and chairs the board of SolarCity–Tesla Motors evokes memories of Apple in the 1980s and Napster in the new millenium, companies that shook their respective industries. Industry Analysis The United States automobile industry can be divided into three categories: fully internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid (a mixture of ICE and electric) and plug-in electric (fully electric vehicles). Within these categories, there are two subcategories based solely on price point: luxury and mass market. For this analysis, we define luxury as vehicles priced at $30,000 and more. Tesla Motors operates within the fully electric luxury segment of the market, but has...

...The Home Depot 2008 Annual Report Dear Shareholders: In 2008, our retail sales declined by 7.8 percent, with comp sales down 8.7 percent. Our adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations declined 22 percent. In ordinary times, these would be very disappointing results. But 2008 was not an ordinary year. Despite the difficult economic environment, we continued to improve our retail business, through investing in our associates and our stores, rebuilding our supply chain and improving customer service. We also made several strategic decisions to optimize our capital allocation, concentrating our efforts on our core business. In the first quarter, we closed 15 underperforming stores and reduced our pipeline of new stores by 50. In the third quarter, we renegotiated our private label credit card agreement, capping our cost of private label credit. In the fourth quarter, we announced our decision to exit EXPO and related businesses. These actions will make the Company stronger. On the financial side, we ended the year with a solid operating profit and $41 billion in assets. We generated cash from the business of approximately $5.5 billion, which allowed us to invest in the business where necessary and reduce our debt obligations while maintaining a healthy dividend. On the operational side, we implemented an “Aprons on the Floor” initiative, which deployed over $200 million in annualized savings onto the floor of the stores for customer service...
