1. How does the integration of HR with the organizational culture contribute to the success of Google, Scripps, and UPS? To find ideas, go to the corporate website for each of these companies and search for additional insights.
• Google, Scripps, and UPS all are successful companies and I believe it has a lot to do with the fact that they all have strong organizational culture. This strength keeps these companies employees focused on what the company expects from them and what their goals should be. Without this culture deeply imbedded into the companies, they would be more apt to slowly fall apart at the seams.

2. Discuss how some of the cultural facets mentioned compare to those among employers you have worked for, and explain the difference in the views of these various employers.

• I worked as an Internet Sales Manager for a Car lot a few years ago. This car lot did not have a clear and strong organizational culture. This left all of the employees going in different directions all at the same time. A lot of the employees didn’t have the same morals as the others so there was a lot of disagreements among the employees at times. This car lot dealt with new and used cars and I witnessed some of the mechanics practicing less than honest repairs to the used cars getting ready to be sold. This bothered me greatly. How can you expect a business to prosper in the long run if you are selling faulty products to your customers? This company closed less than a year after I started working there. I believe that if we had had a strong organizational culture we could have been a success and been a long lasting company.
