Tisha Roth is a student in the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. CAE focuses on facilitating first-generation, low-income, and multicultural underrepresented students’ transition to the university through high impact learning experiences and community building. I have the pleasure of working with Tisha as an academic advisor and also as her supervisor for the CAE Peer Mentoring Program. Tisha worked for me for two years as a peer mentor and guided over 15 first-year students to the university by connecting them to resources on campus and assisted to create a space where they feel belonged.
