Case: You are the event leader for a statewide exposition being held in the capital of your state. This will be a 3-day event in the middle of summer and will have indoor and outdoor venues focusing on the strong industries of your state. Your contract requires you to completely create and implement the entire event with 2 years' notice. The event needs a lot of creativity and organization. The event needs to focus on both young and old participants.
There are two parts to this assignment.

First: Mind map the event – see figure 2.7 on page 48 of your text. Create a similar mind map listing and fully answering the why, who, when, where, and what questions. In this week's lecture, you'll find an example of a mind map that will help you with this assignment. Why? | Who? | When? | Where? | What? | Exposure benefits to networking in the least of ventures, but resource maximization in every direction. Exposition increases state appeal, from various perspectives, especially jobs or business ventures affluent for advantage. Including youth study programs for 15 year olds, allowed for by California. | Who will benefit? * California Businesses within its state and bordering communities as well as neighboring tribal or gaming communities offering jobs to the public. * Hotels, timeshares, restaurants, gas stations, and the travel industry like car rentals: folks will travel to attend this exposition, requiring somewhere to stay, food to eat and a life as normal while they are here.Who will attend? * Everyone will attend from the looker loos to businesses entrepanuers or businesses searching for new prospect and skill or talent. * General public from all over the United States and possibly from out of the country observing for a job or fresh perspectives. | The event will converse per three days over the summer: Benefiting students especially colligates off for the summer, but all vacationers or travelers looking for networking resources. Summer festivities with fair weather provides occasions for the event hosting indoors and outdoors activities as well as from early morning to late evening. It would be favorable if we can adopt the July holiday weekend, independence day theme would enhance the experience in everyway. Considering continued events for all intervals of the day, in the course of the event there will be activities inside and weather providing activities and purveyors hosting outside. | Event location at the state capital / independence day, also event continuance located at a banquet hotel, like our church does, furthering to convention centers. Garden teas in the hotel banquet area or poolside festivities will benefit the hotel by enticing patrons to stay at the hotel vie location convenience versus traveling. The hotel bars and restaurant will be open for convenience breakfast provisions free continental breakfast during the exposition. The bar and restaurant will also be open for lunch and dinner, available at an event discounted price with proof of exposition event guest attendees. | Event attraction to company participation for marketing their company and signature in addition attraction to patrons for successful interviews for the exact or best matches. Parking, signage, seating availability adequately supplied, for vehicle parking also proper allotment of hotel rooms for visitors and event attendance (vendors or guests.) Second: What tasks will you perform in each of the five stages (research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation)? Elaborate on each stage and task.
Research: “Underpinning each of these stages is the opportunity to demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to promote greater sustainability for your event and the global events industry.” (Goldblatt 41) Researching exist the event foundation, our text discusses “Excellent event research reduces risk,” (Goldblatt 42) researching culture, backgrounds and every aspect of involvements may fluctuate to smooth and necessary transitions or even as a game changer overall, nevertheless prerequisite features intended for event exploits. Research should anticipate planned schematics rendering benevolent outcomes as the text describes it design to match by research for productive outcomes.
One of the greatest concepts catching my eyes in our text depicted “the value of using research to pinpoint the needs, wants, desires, and expectations of prospective customers.” (Goldblatt 42) I believe the event host responsible for researching diverse industries with probability for perspective candidacy or prospective purveyor for the exposition: after carefully acquiring particular industries for their venture, thus providing a variety of occupational ventures to invitees. The research continues to the event scene, it is ‘absolutely necessary” to provide and secure sufficient space for everyone and all parts to flow smoothly, contemplating adequate submissions for all visitors especially travelers. Proper assurance each person will be interested with content while visiting the state exposition.
One of the biggest research factors highlighted existed “Government leaders regularly conduct feasibility studies prior to authorizing capital investments. These feasibility studies include exhaustive research. An event is a product that placed before members of the public with the reasonable expectation that they will attend. Therefore, it is imperative that you conduct careful and accurate consumer research to reduce the risk of nonattendance.” (Goldblatt 42) The next key research item is cost, it remains vitally important to understand projected spending and all pecuniary patterns, expenses too great or to little may break the piggy bank copious event spending on one part versus too little money for another part. “Qualitative research is generally more expensive than quantitative research due to the time that is involved in probing for answers more complex and diverse than numerical data.” (Goldblatt 46) As a final point, the marketing modus operandi needs attention, with privileged style research, affording advantageous methodical techniques to advertise, developing production to an audience of people to come to the exposition. “With technology advancements on the rise, the events industry is learning to utilize tools such as Facebook, webcasts, and other viral marketing techniques to bring them together as an industry.” (Goldblatt 155)
Design: unveiling the event planning process, with a meeting embracing the people who are designing the event unites inspirational notions for the event. Everyone must stand supportive to one another without anyone becoming a culprit or having a lousy idea. A mind map stands determination of excellence used to mesh everyone’s ideas, composed by script provides ease and comfort in an organized tactic for evaluation. “Perhaps one growth opportunity for future Event Leaders will be to design a total life-cycle event environment providing services, including accommodations, for these important events in a resort or leisure setting.” (Goldblatt 16)
Planning: the timing factor of the planning portion of the five stages, affords proportionally enough time for plan discovery of the event in an absolute manner, moreover, enough time for everyone to acquire properly the required data when in attendance. Respectively phases of planning the event call for a certain amount of time, but we must take into account the space-planning factor also: which requires enough space to maintain the full quantity of the vendors, attending guests and amenities. The final planning key stands tempo, regulating the timing flanked by all assemblies in advance to the event but including real time actual event.
Coordination stands the stage for the tangible event transport, but preventative measures require the attitude of presumption planning, considering problematic issues contemporary to the cause always in motion but with a solution precursory to the in staged issues resolved: pros and cons pre evaluated with answers to thwart without residual effects to event attendees or participants.
Evaluation remain everything in lieu of participants surveys, surveys are often the marketing ploy for a better tomorrow or the next marketing event and this every way for the vender, for the guest, for the State and all participants involved. The Host depends on the communication the survey provides, which is constructive criticism discussing without prejudice, likes and dislikes, successes and failures. These days, Surveys are sometime taken online, but there are other ways for the event host to recognize necessary changes, namely social media, blogs Twitter and Yelp. I would venture to say, with virtual reality, a modern marvel; events will soon share a new twist.
