Homework Question #3 on pg. 68 Would you let Casey Anthony babysit your child?
If not everyone, most people know who Casey Anthony is and most people believe she is guilty of killing her daughter Caylee. Everyone has seen the pictures of Casey partying while her daughter was missing and therefor she did it. If Casey felt bad about her daughter missing then she wouldn’t have been out and about partying. She said she had dropped two year old Caylee off at the nannies and that was the last time she saw her. In the eyes of the world it is obvious she murdered her beautiful daughter and even if she didn’t Casey Anthony has one heck of a reputation. So would you let her babysit your child? Even if you knew for a fact she wasn’t guilty? The answer to the question is no. Casey Anthony is the most hated person in America, and a person with any common sense would not let their child go within 3 feet of this woman. She is evil and has no heart. Everyone knows she is guilty. She will always be known for all the lies she told police when poor Caylee disappeared and proved to America she had no worries in the world when her only child went missing. Of course the jury found her not guilty for reasons I will never understand. Poor baby Caylee was found dead in a wooded area near their family home and had tape around her mouth. Her mom had made up fake stories about her nanny taking her when all along she knew where Caylee was because she left her there in those woods. Casey Anthony should never be allowed to have children again let alone, be around other’s children. If she didn’t care what she did to her own daughter than what would make her care about anyone else’s

Godd Will Hunting

...Good Will Hunting: A Protagonist’s Path to Physiological Fulfillment and What That Teaches Viewers About Success Introduction Good Will Hunting is the touching story of a young man’s struggle to transcend his Dickensian childhood, to discover his place in the world, and to achieve intimacy with others. On some levels the story and the plot of Good Will Hunting, conveys a very fundamental messages to the viewer; that we are all products of our environments and made up of the vast experiences in which we live. However, this movie introduces an extremely complex character whose past is tainted by abuse and abandonment and introduces a character that is both genius in his capability but hindered by his inability to face his brutal upbringing. Character development The most compelling character that Will encounters is Sean, Will’s psychiatrist. What makes the character unique is that Sean too comes from Southey, the rough and tumble neighborhood that Will grew up in. Sean has escaped his past by attending Harvard and graduating as an intellectual. However, Sean is also conflicted, as he has suffered after witnessing the slow death of his wife from cancer. In there first meeting, after Will tells Sean that his painting of a boatman in a storm is a metaphor for his own tumultuous existence after the loss of his true love, Sean responds with violent consternation. After graduating from UCLA with a Political Science degree, Wasserman got into the world of investment banking and realized it was not for him. At age 25, he became the youngest person to ever own a professional sports team when he purchased the LA Avengers of the Arena Football League. Helping to negotiate the AFL’s national TV partnership with NBC, as well as playing an integral part in the collective bargaining agreement with the players, Wasserman was later elected chairman of the league. His love of football, despite the termination of the LA Avengers in 2009, has not faded. All About Me

...By far, my favorite application essay to write was Fuqua’s “25 Random Things About Me.” However, I was surprised to talk to other applicants and hear how difficult many found the essay to write. My advice for those of you struggling with this non-traditional essay is to just have fun! This is a great and unique opportunity to show your interests, personality, and what sets you apart as a person. I’m pretty confident that after reading my first blog (The Top 10 Reasons Why I Chose Fuqua), you thought to yourself, “Wow, this Trevor McKinnon sounds like an awesome guy. I wish I could get to know him better.” Well, it’s your lucky day! Below are some random things about me, and although this is not the same list I submitted as part of my application, it should give you the gist: 1. I was born in the US, raised in the UK, and have citizenship in both countries. 2. I played alto saxophone in a jazz nightclub in Prague. 3. My daughter’s name is Surrey. No, not because of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter (Suri) and not because of the iPhone app (Siri), but because Surrey is where I grew up in England. And yes, people ask me those 2 questions all the time. 4. Surrey is spoiled: she had been to Disneyland more than 10 times before the age of 18 months, even though she’s never lived in California. My wife is from Orange County, so we would visit her family frequently while living in Utah, which always included multiple trips to Disneyland to get the most out of our season...

Ducati Corse

...Ducati Corse, a subsidiary of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A, was responsible for managing the activities of the Ducati racing teams. Historically, Ducati had been the dominant force in the Superbike Circuit winning 13 titles since 1990. Until recently, Ducati was only part of the World Superbike series. But a recent rule by FIM (in 2001) permitting the use of 4-stroke engine in bikes as against 2-stroke engines, which was a mandate earlier (for MotoGP) prompted Ducati to get into MotoGP. Despite the fact that high costs were involved and Ducati faced the risk of being a late entrant into MotoGP, the Ducati team was highly enthusiastic about this new development. Ducati had a fairly successful first season (2003) but the 2004 campaign turned out to be disappointing. Determined to come back strongly, Filippo Preziosi, (Technical Director) and the team decided to move from an integrated design approach to a modular design for its next generation bike (GP5).  Why did Ducati Corse succeed in its first year of MotoGP competition?  Even though Ducati entered the MotoGP arena in 2003 as underdogs with very limited experience, they literally made their presence felt. They went on to achieve 14 front-row starts, 9 podium finishes, 3 pole positions, and even tasted one victory. One of the key reasons that I believe led to their success was the inner zeal, commitment and passion that the Ducati engineers displayed in designing the first GP bike. Few of the other important reasons for their...

Grey Album

...In 2004, one of the most notorious albums was made, The Grey Album. It consisted of Jay-Z’s Black Album and The Beatle’s White Album. DJ Danger Mouse created this mash-up album without the permission of Jay-Z or The Beatles. The album included acapellas and instrumentals from both of the albums. As of result of this, recording company EMI filed a cease-and-desist letter to Danger Mouse as he started to distribute and sell the album. A fellow music group by the name of Negativland released a song with the name U2 on the front cover. Negativland sampled the song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking for” and outtakes from the host of American Top 40, Casey Kasem. Negativland never received permission to use any of U2’s work. As soon as Negativland released the album for retail, recording company Island Records and Warner-Chappell Music filed a lawsuit against Negativland and their record company. The lawsuit ended with Negativland recalling all the copies of the single and having to pay over $70,000 in damages and legal costs. Artists should not be allowed to use each other’s work. According to the case study, Negativland claims “Our work is an authentic and original whole, being much more than the sum of its samples”. In other words, Negativland does acknowledge that they in fact did use U2’s work but it should be looked at as more than that. Negativland’s work is not original and is just refurbished pieces of some other artist’s work. It’s been said that true creativity is...

Law Case Study

...PHC6420 Spring 2013 Dated: Summary of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey (1992). In 1973 Roe v. Wade created a political and legal uproar on issue of abortion. Under due process clause of the 14th Amendment, which declares that “no State shall deprive any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law”. This due process of law has not been completely understood though court has spent years of defining redefining each component of due process clause. Women’s decision to have abortion before viability of fetus and to obtain it without interference from State .Interest of State to protect prenatal life and create hurdles for Women’s right to choose the procedure though few exceptions were considered where life of women and fetus after viability was in danger. This was challenged that states involvement in whole pregnancy process was not right and therefore court ordered involvement of state limited to trimester of pregnancy. This was argued too and later courts rejected trimester involvement and supported the fact that women has right to terminate abortion till fetus is viable The exact definition of viability became big controversy and this prompted a debate in entire nation and is still going on even today whether abortion should be legalized, who should decide the legality of the abortions, how much should be the state involved, what are the moral and ethical views regarding this issue. This controversy divided nation into pro-choice...

Woman's Movement Timeline

...Women’s Movement Timeline Kerri McCleary Kaplan University SS310-05: Exploring the 1960’s 1405B December 2014 Term Professor: Adam Rafalovich January 26, 2015 The idea of Women’s rights to an abortion has been an ongoing power struggle between politicians and women for a long amount of time. This struggle hit its first milestone in 1916 and is still present in today’s society. The timeline above shows many of the milestones that allow women the choice to have an abortion if they chose to receive one in terms of pro-choice or pro-life. In 1916 Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic. Her clinic only lasted 10 days as she was arrested for such an act at this time. She gained so much support that a few years later in 1923 she opened another clinic. Before Sanger opened her next clinic she founded the American Birth Control League which became Planned Parenthood Federation of American in 1942. Margaret Sanger started the fight for women’s right to birth control. Due to the battles that Sanger won, in 1936, birth control information, by law, was not considered obscene and was able to be shared through the mail. This would be impossible if the public was supporting birth control. It took 24 years after the start of the movement for the government to act. In 1960 the Federal Drug Administration finally approved birth control as safe and can be used by any woman, victory! (Imbornoni, 2007). The Next step in this fight for women involves three Supreme...

Public's Conditional Response to Supreme Court Decisions

...Review & Summary: The article that I am reviewing is “ The Public’s Conditional Response to Supreme Court Decisions” (Johnson & Martin 1998). This article specifically speaks to answer, whether the Court affects public attitudes when it makes decisions or initial rulings on a salient issue or subsequent decisions on the same issue. Johnson allows us to investigate the effect of the Supreme Court on public opinion, which offers the conditional response hypothesis based on the theory of Supreme Court legitimacy, and a micro-level social-psychological theory of attitude formation through his writing. To test this prediction Johnson analyzes public opinion data before and after the Supreme Court ruled in a highly visible abortion case (Roe v. Wade 1973), along with three key capital punishment rulings. (Furman v. Georgia 1972, Gregg v. Georgia 1976 & McCleskey v. Kemp 1987) When the Supreme Court made decisions, the public simply accepted them as legitimate. The reasoning behind this is simply because the Supreme Court is seen as the ultimate arbiter of the law. The model used by both Johnson and Martin (1998) is based upon two different theories. The first, since the public generally views the Court as a highly credible institution, individuals are more likely to clearly elaborate their attitudes toward an issue after a ruling. When the court makes its first major decision on a particular, the structure of public opinion changes in a manner consistent with...
