CASI Model Essay

Technology is on the rise, and will continue to be. With that being said, there needs to be an understanding to which technology will be implemented to organizations. Being a part of the I.T department in my organization, I have seen several different levels of the CASI model being implemented to my organization. Through all these different levels, applications are definitely the strongest and most used. Application’s relies on a lot of the different layers as well. All the levels work together to make one model that is formulated for organizations. Applications are where all the main logic is at. Applications manipulates services, and can store or move files. For example, if a system is encrypted, applications, is what induces these measures. Almost all organizations that deal with sensitive material are either encrypted, or BitLocked. With all these different types of software that may be implemented to an organization, there are many different ways that these may be implemented throughout the background even if users don’t realize it at all. With the CASI model, all levels coincide together, and determine each value’s differently. I also would like to touch base on Services as well, because these two kind of rely on each other. Services offer several different things, one of my organizations choice that we reside with is DNS. Domain Name System (DNS) is something that a lot of organizations rely upon because it’s one of the best approaches to setting up a network for an organization. My organization currently uses one, and this keeps all our systems on one network where we (Desktop Support Techs) can have access to other tools or Applications that assist us in doing our jobs. Some of the tools that I like to take advantage of while being on a Domain is utilizing Remote Desktop for my users. If I’m in a hurry, and don’t have enough time to go
