Catherine Fenton Bernath is an artist based in NYC and currently in her first year at Parsons the New School, pursuing her MFA in Fine Arts. Catherine’s work engages in all forms of media, with the intent of further exploring our ideas surrounding public and private space. Aspects of the family and the domestic home that have traditionally been silenced, domestic violence for one, are of particular interest to her. Catherine’s pieces are psychologically charged, provoking an emotional response and encouraging the viewer to question and engage in the underlying themes throughout, which include death, sexuality, trauma and the unconscious.
