Chadwick Center Chadwick Center staff and client makeup consists of a means for the staff and client to recognize and give feedback. This will help determine the client’s overall satisfaction measurement which clients will benefit, based on the staff and client are both in agreement of the quality and service and the goals that are obtainable when meeting the essential needs of the client. The Chadwick center clients are a percentage of Latino/Hispanic Americans. Staffs that provide treatment should incorporate a life course approach while working with this target population. This will help staff to have knowledge and understand the resources, discrimination, and conflicts of the clients whom they assist. It is important for this Human Service organization to recognize the demographic areas of the Latino/Hispanic clientele. Understanding where they originated from their historical background that has taken place in their country will give the worker insight on what trauma they may have experienced in their country. The staff at Chadwick Center is trained to have available information on the countries and regions of these particular clients. “There is a critical need for an increased number of culturally-and linguistically-relevant Spanish speaking mental health providers at all levels of mental health care” (Gonzales & Ramos-Gonzales, 2005). Here at Chadwick Center the service providers receive adequate training based on the language barrier that the Latin American and Central American countries exist of. Staff conducts ethical standard codes not to judge or based their client’s heritage. The Latino/Hispanic population is a diverse culture group that consists of individuals with their own moral values. Staff should be able to accept the client as the individual they are and not pass judgment based on the client’s ethnicity. Networking and reaching out within the community will benefit this diverse population. Workshops will help increase the understanding of how psychological distress the client is experiencing and explain to the client how therapy can work in their time of need. “Service providers need to understand the important role that resilience plays in public health promotion for Latino communities” (Delgado, 1995). Chadwick Center service providers should acknowledge that their clients strengths in society, family ties, and individually can help build strength in implementing a well developed program with potential strategies that will help address the problems and issues the Latino/Hispanic families have been traumatized by. Staff should be motivated and encouraged by available resource material that can provide clarity on the impact that the family has encountered and are affected by these negative events that has occurred in the Latino/Hispanic children and families. Demographic areas should be recognized by the service provider the characteristics of the Latino/Hispanic population they assist. The families’ strengths should present the cultural values and spirituality based on the country of origin of the client. Staff providers should be able to recognize and utilize the type of services that help promotes the community and members who are involved to reach out and promote in the community they serve. By utilizing and educating the Latino/Hispanic population in regards toward their mental health behavior issues can be efficient and effective toward community outreach and this can help excess a positive treatment evaluation and the necessary referrals can be a great start toward recovery. While, the staff providers gather’s available information on their clients country or origin the need to conduct a investigation on ways to help plan a successful action plan that will help with the families treatment process. This information can be based on the diversity culture values that the Latino/Hispanic population moral beliefs and ethical principles they practice in their lifestyle.
