...There are many challenges that might arise when writing an academic paper. One of them is writers block. This is when a writer loses the ability to continue working on a paper. Writers block can last for five minutes, or five hours. Writers block happens to me all of the time when I am writing a paper. This is also common in many college students. Another problem that may arise is not enough time to finish or write a paper. This can happen when trying to juggle a hectic lifestyle. Working more than one job, taking care of children, and managing a relationship can take up most of your time. Making sure work is done on time is priority. Distractions are another problem that may occur when writing. There are many kinds of distractions, sound, and visual. Children are my number one interference when I am writing or doing school work. The TV and radio are also distractions that may make me lose focus on an assignment. Distractions are a big problem in my house, but I try to avoid them as much as possible. These are a few problems that may occur when writing a paper for school. Where ever there is a challenge there is a way to overcome them. When I have writers block I take a break to clear my mind. Taking a walk or listening to some soft music helps to relieve the stress. Brainstorming is another thing that I do to get new ideas in my head to write about. After clearing my mind I can get back to writing my paper. Time management is a way to make sure that everything gets done on...

...Challenges of a Paper When writing a paper there will be many challenges to face; for most people the first challenge would be arriving at a starting point. The fear of putting pen to paper is probably the most difficult. Choosing a subject in itself scary, but if the subject is assigned, or several choices given will elevate that decision . Once the topic has been chosen, there is still the challenge of what to write. One strategy mentioned in the, Adult Basic Education and Literacy Journal, is to create a graphic organizer (Beverstock, McIntyre 2008). This tool was found to be most useful in overcoming the insecurity most people have when required to write their thoughts. When the ideas have started to flow, create an outline of the issues what will be discussed. In the video, Writing Process, the narrator suggested that creating an outline will help with yet another challenge, procrastination (“ University of Phoenix” Library). The narrator in the same video suggested scheduling a certain amount of time daily to devote to writing. He also suggested keeping a note pad and pencil on the bedside table, and carry one on your person so thoughts can be written down as soon as possible. Although it was suggested that the use a graphic organizer will help with ideas for a paper, this strategy does not work for me. I am dyslexic, that circle with all the lines extending outward is very confusing. I have found using an outline is easier for organizing thoughts, and being...

...Trends and Challenges Paper Team Member’s name MGT 431 date Teacher Trends and Challenges Paper In the world of business the use of performance management systems or annual performance appraisals is one that is viewed differently by each organization and management team. Although these two methods have some of the same characteristics, they also contrast in many ways. Performance appraisals can be an effective tool for organizations but along with many business techniques can be problematic. Another important method that should be practiced by organizations is the management of turnover rates. A swinging door of employees leaving and entering can quickly become a costly routine for an organization. In this, the organization must make sure the employee is respected, treated fairly, and given an opportunity to speak his or her concerns. In a business world with labor laws employers have more competition of safe and friendly work environments. Safety and health management must be made a priority in all organizations. Safety and health regulations are put in place by laws and it is management’s job to ensure they are understood and followed regularly. These are just some of the responsibilities and challenges of management and will continue to change. Management should take steps to prepare for certain future challenges that may arise. Management system versus annual performance appraisals Performance management systems and annual performance appraisals are two controversial...

...Negotiation Challenges and Objective Paper The negotiation challenge I currently faced was my contract renewal last month. I am the youngest pharmacist in the hospital I am working in and I enjoy working there as I have a very good relationship with my colleagues and my boss, who was the obstetrician who helped deliver me to this world. Moreover, I live very close to the hospital, just one street away from it, so it would be ideal for me to continue my career at this hospital. Things were all good until last month, which was the last month before my contract ended, I still had not been asked to negotiate the contract renewal and I started to feel unsettled. So I started to get my resume out to the market and got myself a job offer from another hospital, with a 50% increase in salary, though a lot far away from the hospital I was in. After getting this offer, I heard from my colleague who was in the management team of the pharmacy department that my boss was going to offer me a contract with 20% increase in salary. In no surprise, my boss invited me to have a meeting with him to talk about my contract renewal that day. Since I was at the stage of considering marriage with my girlfriend who had been with me for 6 years, I needed the money to buy a flat for us so my goal was to get a 50% increase in salary at the hospital I was working in. After greeting and stating the purpose of this meeting was to negotiate the contract renewal, we discussed about how the hospital could help...

...If you have in any way plugged into social media over the past few weeks, there is no doubt that you have encountered the Mannequin Challenge, the viral Internet video trend where people remain frozen in action, like mannequins, while a video is recorded, usually with Rae Sremmurd’s "Black Beatles" playing in the background. Watching living, breathing humans stand completely still is a reminder that life, at its core, is about movement, progression, evolution, and achievement—none of which can be accomplished by merely standing still. Whether it is in your relationships, job, or at home, when you reach the point where you are no longer moving—that is evolving, redefining, or growing, you are at risk of missing out on all the valuable lessons...

...Graduate Study Challenges and Strategies for Success Twenty one years ago I started my nursing profession, which I do not regret any minute of it. Today I found myself back to college embarking a new journey pursuing MSN degree with much excitement and many challenges. In order to be successful in graduate study, I have to come up with strategies to overcome the anticipated challenges. The three main obstacles I face that would affect my study are writing, time management, and stress. Reason Health care industry has been evolved immensely over the past 10 to 15 years. When I graduated as a nurse 18 years ago, regular diploma or bachelor’s degree was what required. Health care professionals could advance career with clinical experiences. It is so different in our field now. The minimal requirement for higher managerial position is master’s degree. It requires not only the clinical skill and experience but also the management knowledge. I have great passion in my profession. I want to enrich my skill sets and qualification so that I can better prepare myself to serve the public and to move upward in my career ladder. Short-term Goal Within the first month I will familiarize myself with available resources in OLS and maximally use what the university can provide me to flourish my learning experience. Milestone. ...research paper that I will being doing will focused the Two Dollar Challenge which will be taking place April 4th through the 8th. This program was founded around the astounding statistic that nearly half of the world survives on less than two dollars a day. The Two Dollar Challenge promotes a mindful movement to end global poverty. According to them here is what we can do: “We can get to know what we do not know about the economic lives of the poor. We can unlearn what we have learned about the end of global poverty. We can reconsider our role in the story of poverty’s end.” (Our Purpose) The point of the challenge of living off of two dollars each day for a week is to “push you outside your comfort zone to critically engage with and empathetically reevaluate global poverty and your role in its end.” (Our Purpose)....

...Addressing Challenges of Groups and Teams Paper Training can provide unique opportunities for organizations to prevent fraud and improve ethical practices among employees. Training can help to educate, raise awareness, and increase short and long-term company profits. WorldCom was a classic example of failed corporate governance, accounting abuses, and plain greed that could have been prevented through appropriate management and employee training. This paper will provide an example of a training plan that could have helped prevent the demise of WorldCom. Developing a Training Plan To increase the effectiveness of employees toward the achievement of business goals, it is essential to put a training plan in place that will enhance communication, group collaboration, and conflict management. A well designed training plan would display the same basic training module but with more organizational specificity on the topic to be addressed. The training plan is therefore designed to maintain the following fundamental principles. a) Training Goal: The desire to achieve results in effective communication, collaboration, and conflict management from employees to include an understanding of the expectation of ethical behavior. A training manager shall be responsible for designing a curriculum that would address the challenges and benefits of these components within a reasonable time frame. b) Learning Objective: At the end of the training the expectation will be, employees...

...The overall of the purpose of the challenge was to see how each individual group reacts to the task, how they carry out the challenge, and also whether or not they actually complete the task. I know this because each group had different materials provided to them and it was their decisions that made each group different. In addition, some groups had bright ideas and were able to make “something” out of nothing. My primary take away from this experience was to think outside the box and to remember that the obvious choice isn't always the best choice; meaning that even if you play by the rules and do everything to the best of you ability, that doesn't mean that you should think of a way to bend the rules and be more efficient by thinking of...

...least 200 words identifying three challenges that might arise when writing a paper. Write a second paragraph of at least 200 words explaining the strategies you will use to overcome those challenges. Some people may face many challenges that may arise when writing a paper. Three challenges I believe a writer may face are writing anxiety, not knowing where to begin, and making your writing flow. Many people may face writers anxiety. I personally have this issue. This challenges may occur when a writer is adjusting to a new form of writing, limited time, or dealing with stresses at home, not related to school. Not knowing where to begin when writing is another challenge. After he or she gathers sources, the challenge may arise on where to begin on their paper. Some begin with the introduction, others may begin with a conclusion. I believe it all depends on the topic. Sometimes certain topics will be easy to gather, and organize to begin a well written paper. Others however, may be a task. Last, a challenge may be making your writing flow. A writer may lose focus on specific area’s such as attention and detail. This problem can occur from no organization between the sentences or the paragraphs. No organization, or flow may lose the attention of your readers, causing your work to be boring and or confusing. Facing these challenges, I would consider some time and effort. There are way’s to overcome the challenges we face when writing. In the...

...Everybody needs a hobby to participate in!! An enjoyable, educational activity that I participate in is the United States First Tech Challenge Robotics. Robotics is a program that teaches kids, grades seven through nine, the basics of engineering, robotic design, programming, public relations, and many, many more! It will literately stick like superglue to every participants brain. I have had people often stereotype robotics to be fighting, lasers, etc., but there is truly more than just walking, talking, and basically anything a human can and cannot do. It is the exact same with clouds; people think clouds taste like cotton candy, but are yet to figure out that they are conspicuously wrong. First of all, robotics I a very interesting thing to learn and talk about. It is so interesting, in fact, that my school, Ridgeview Highschool, has a class based on robots. The class is titled, Technological Introduction to Robotic Design. Thats quite a hefty name! Second of all, while being a participant of a robotics team here at my school, I am often finding myself excused from school for trips to go to a competition,...

...My Reactions On: CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES AND GREEN OPPORTUNITIES A. The Report Content, Organization And Presentation The topic of “Current issues, concerns, trends, challenges and opportunities of running an offshore business” specifically on the “Climate change issues and green opportunities” interests me as a topic for this reaction paper because for the past years now, the world has given much attention to this issue. Businessmen now are very concerned on how to transcend and adopt to green opportunities which is the trend right now since consumers are also very much conscious on the effect of greenhouse emissions and global warming to their health and to mother nature. The topic stimulates more my interest because I want to be aware on how companies advance on an climate-friendly business models, and operations which will result to eco-friendly products and services which are of course appropriate to the climate of the location of their businesses. B. The Relevance And Applicability Of This Report In My Life and In My Environment At Present And In The Future. This report is very relevant to me because it made me become more aware on the effects of climate change not only to myself, to the environment, but also to the business sector on what it can do to the future of the economy. As an individual, at present I might not be that concern on what the effects of climate change would be, but I cannot hide nor deny it that there is really an effect. In addition, the topic...
