...Image Change Analysis Paper Introduction “A company’s image is everything from its advertisements to its employees and even packaging materials. A well-developed company image helps improve sales figures and allows consumers to accurately place the business in the context of competitors within a given marketplace. Organization behavior plays a key role in shaping a company’s image from product pricing to which industries a company chooses to establish a presence in.(ehow.com)” Images can be utilized in analyzing proposed organizational changes. Within this paper, I have chosen to apply some concepts about my previous employer QS with the change of new management. The particular place was managed by someone who had a four year degree in management. The office had a doctor and nine other employees. The doctor, who was the owner of the practice, did not have any management skills and wanted things to go her way or no way. The manager was trying to implement policies that would keep the employees from leaving and also keep the patients coming in the door. There were large number of negative comment cards and also a high turnover. The ultimate problem was getting the doctor to see things the manager’s way and not her way. Application Analysis The first problem was the moral in the office. There was employee going up to the manager all the time talking about how they can’t work with the doctor, because she always have to complain about something and she was never...

...ASSESSING CHANGE MANAGERS’ IMAGES Introduction This exercise was carried out to assess change managers’ images. The work so far gives an in depth discussion on the actions of two change managers as they relate to the six images of change. In this regard two change managers were interviewed and both of them are in the retail business entity. For convenience, they are labeled as Change manager A and B of A and B companies respectively. The responses of both change managers were compared and contrasted to make this assessment. Based on the responses of the mangers in question it was clearly evident that they were using the images unconsciously. The actions and approaches they adopted to augment change in their respective organizations show that they were implementing change influenced by the images. The company of Manager A is a well established business on a larger scale unlike that of Manger B which is a small grocery store. In the interviews both managers told their stories regarding change in their respective organizations. In the case of Manager A, he said it was a kind of transformational change that took place in his organization. There is a policy of the Home office to transform all its retail stores to supercenters based on the performance these stores in terms of profit-making and meeting the demands of the customers .In addition,he pointed out that the store was doing well in business ,consequently the Home office drew up a plan for it to change to a supercenter...

...Writing a Literary Analysis Paper The Purpose of a Literary Analysis: A literary analysis is not merely a summary of a literary work. Instead, it is an argument about the work that expresses a writer’s personal perspective, interpretation, judgment, or critical evaluation of the work. This is accomplished by examining the literary devices, word choices, or writing structures the author uses within the work. The purpose of a literary analysis is to demonstrate why the author used specific ideas, word choices, or writing structures to convey his or her message. How to Create a Literary Analysis: 1. Read the text closely several times. Focus on the ideas that are being presented. Think about the characters’ development and the author’s writing technique. What might be considered interesting, unusual, or important? 2. Brainstorm a list of potential topics. Highlight important passages in the text and take notes on these passages. Later, when writing the paper, these notes should help a writer to remember which aspects of the story caught his/her attention. The topic chosen should always be based on a writer’s interpretation of the author’s message. Here are some things a writer may want to consider when brainstorming for a literary analysis. Character: What observations might a writer make about the characters? Are there discrepancies in what they think, say, or do? Are the observations a writer makes different from what other characters say? How does the author...

...customer loyalty is a business enterprise can be an important factor. On the one hand, enterprises have to get a good income, in addition to the core technology and improving product quality, but customer satisfaction, service quality and Enterprise Image will to some extent affect on customer loyalty, loyal customers are the main profit source. On the other hand, when supply exceeds demand in the market environment, the cost to acquire new customers than to maintain existing customer costs, but the profit contribution of new customers is far less than the original customer. Finally, the loyalty of customers through word of mouth to bring new business customers. Therefore, the development of customer loyalty strategies, research customer needs and maintain long-term two-way interaction with the customer relationship business and academia has been the focus of attention. Customer loyalty in the communications industry, more and more attention, is the communications business focus of attention and contention. The domestic mobile communications market has emerged Mobile, Unicorn, Telecom tripod trends, how to build and maintain customer loyalty, an enterprise in the fierce competition to get the key to success. ...VARK Analysis Paper Grand Canyon University: NRS-429V August 11, 2013 VARK Analysis paper VARK analysis is a method through which a person identifies his favored method of learning. VARK is the acronym for Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinesthetic. In this VARK method there is a questionnaire which a person has to complete in order to determine his/her favored learning method. The writer of this paper has completed the questionnaire and the results showed that she prefers multimodal style of learning. The multimodal learners may be called as having a universal style as 60% of any given population has this learning style (Fleming, 2011a). This paper gives the brief description of the writers learning style, lists writers preferred learning strategies, compares writer’s preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies and evaluate any change the writer need to make in the learning habits to increase learning potentiality. Summary of the preferred Learning Style This part of the paper discuses the writer’s preferred learning style which is multimodal. The multimodal learning means that the writer has multiple choices of learning. A research shows that multimodal preferences learners dominate for all populations and it is evidently the most used set of preferences when making decisions about learning (Fleming, 2011b). The multimodal consists of all the four learning methods: visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic...

...can be done with wavelets that cannot be done with traditional Fourier analysis. Stephane Mallat was not the father of wavelet theory, but he is certainly an evangelist. His textbook on the subject, A Wavelet Tour of Signal Processing [1], contains proofs about the theory of wavelets, and a summation about what is known about them with applications to signal processing. One of his many papers, Characterization of Signals from Multiscale Edges [2], is frequently cited as a link between wavelets and edge detection. Mallat’s method not only finds edges, but classifies them into different types as well. Mallat goes on to describe a method of recovering complete images using only the edges, but we will not implement it in this project. In this project, we study this paper, and implement the method of Mallat to multiscale edge detection and analysis. We will first present a short background on wavelet theory. Then we will describe the different types of edges that exist in images, and how they can be characterized using a Lipschitz constant. Next, we describe the algorithm for the wavelet transform, from the Mallat paper. Finally, we show the results of applying the algorithm to a test image, and a real image. wave with the signal. When the results high valued, the coefficients of the Fourier transform will be high. Where the signal or the wave is close to zero, the coefficients will be low. Fourier analysis has a big problem, however. The sine and cosine functions are defined from...

...applied, they are prone to false skin detection and are not able to cope with the variety of human skin colors across different ethnic. Moreover, existing methods require high computational cost. In this paper, we propose a novel human skin detection approach that combines a smoothed 2-D histogram and Gaussian model, for automatic human skin detection in color image(s). In our approach, an eye detector is used to refine the skin model for a specific person. The proposed approach reduces computational costs as no training is required, and it improves the accuracy of skin detection despite wide variation in ethnicity and illumination. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first method to employ fusion strategy for this purpose. Qualitative and quantitative results on three standard public datasets and a comparison with state-of-the-art methods have shown the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach. Index Terms—Color space, dynamic threshold, fusion strategy, skin detection. I. INTRODUCTION W ITH the progress of information society today, images have become more and more important. Among them, skin detection plays an important role in a wide range of image processing applications from face tracking, gesture analysis, content-based image retrieval systems to various human–computer interaction domains [1]–[6]. In these applications, the search space for...

...Chapter one Introduction 1.1 Purpose of the Study As closed-class words, the spatial prepositions (SP), which are used to illustrate the relation of two objects is limited in number and simple in form. Nevertheless, they have a great many senses. SP is not only applied to describe the spatial relationship, but also applied to organize other grammar structure. Therefore, at the initial stage of learning English, SP is always the vital category of words that English learners have to comprehend. However, these limited and simple words are used (use) in the expression of foundational spatial meaning and abstract meaning. Learners can easily understand the meaning of up in get up but not in time is up. This is because the common and normal way learners used (use) to comprehend English is to find the “semantic equivalent”. A Chinese learner can understand the former one while they find a semantic equivalent “qi” in their mother language, but the latter one’s (one) is empty. According to the “semantic equivalence hypothesis” by Ijaz (1986), learners always intend to copy all grammar and communication function, except for pronunciation and spelling. From the linguistics aspect, learner can hardly find a precise substitute in their mother language. Therefore, how to master the use of SP efficiently becomes a challenge for English learners. In the view of traditional schools of linguists, the mean of words are arbitrary (Saussure,**), that is to say, the various meanings of SP and...
