The time period of this film connects to 911, and how a man is torn between his love for his country, his religion, obedience to his family, and the American dream of success. Changez Khan is poor but educated he leaves Pakistan to go to America to find his dream of wealth, and success in his life. He lands a job working on Wall Street in which he moved up very quickly to help support his family in Pakistan. Then was asked to do something difficult, he refuses to do what they want, and he resigns from the Wall Street Company to return home.
