Microsoft is one of a few companies with the best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reputations. The highly pride themselves by taking good care of their employees and hold responsibility to those who trust their company. On Microsoft’s website they have a tab dedicated to CSR and go in depth of their activities. Microsoft focuses on three main corporate social responsibilities: stakeholders, international priorities, and partnerships.
They understand that their actions and behavior not only will affect the company but also all of their stakeholders such as their customers, shareholders, employees, communities, suppliers, and partners. Microsoft makes sure to consult with them and wants them to know that their voices are being heard before making any final decisions. A lot of companies will say they care about their employees and customers but they usually never do anything about it. Microsoft truly cares about them and knows that if their stakeholders are happy, their company will rise.
Since Microsoft is an international company, they support their work with international priorities and frameworks such as the United Nations Global Impact, United Nations Guidelines on Business and Human Rights. By following these regulations, it allows their stakeholders to understand Microsoft’s policies, performance and practices. Stakeholders need to know company’s policies to understand how they work and that also has the stakeholders at ease knowing they know what is going on.
Microsoft is a very well-known company and they know they face many issues that are far too big and complex for them to handle on their own. They have formed a number of partnerships to advance responsible practices across their company that includes the Global Network initiative and the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition.
