In other to reach a better understanding of the study, relevant literature reviews and some empirical research studies on dividend policy were critically examined. Six explanatory variables were chosen to be the predictor of dividend payout, which are liquidity, leverage, profitability, firm size, growth opportunities and cash flow. However, this study has confirmed that profitability and liquidity are important determinants of dividend policy in a UK firm. 5.2 Recommendation Based on the findings from the analysis, the following recommendations are made for firms: (i) Profitability in the firm must always be maintained. This is because a profitable business implies that cash would be available to distribute to the shareholders. The level of profitability must always be in focus for the firm; if it is to attain any considerable improvement in its dividend policy. (ii) The firm’s liquidity must be sustained over time. This implies that the firm’s policy must strive to maintain a relatively high ratio of current assets to current liability. This ensures a sustainable higher...

Program Planning and Evaluation Paper HSM/270 February 5, 2012 Program Planning and Evaluation Paper There are so many different human service organizations around the country today, that it may be difficult to see the commonalities and or differences within each, I myself have this issue yet I believe that the commonalities are what includes many agencies to be human service agencies and the differences are what makes up the plethora of agencies still considered human service branches. The Human service agency I chose to work with this block is the Peace Domestic Violence Agency, I am pulled towards this agency because I can see not only does this help abused spouses in a relationship but also children who are most often times the unseen victim. an agency such as this opens up the spectrum for so many that may need to be reached, and on many different levels from basic needs to counseling, from children's delicate needs to protection of a whole family when necessary. let's take these proven statistics as an example[ Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten, and Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually.] ("domestic violence statistics," 2012) these statistics are very powerful, and eye opening. let's begin by establishing the mission of the peace domestic violence agency, which is [to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct...

...There are two types of grasslands, tropical and temperate. Tropical grasslands are warm year around and have a dry and rainy season. Temperate grasslands have an average of 10 to 30 inches of rain per year, have shorter grass, and have a growing and dormant season (Grasslands Terrain of Many Names). There are the Great Plains in the United States that cover from parts of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and covers all of Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, and covers all the way up into parts of Canada. In Africa there is the African Savanna, which is a tropical grassland that covers 25 territories and South Africa. The abiotic structure of grasslands includes the climate; rainfall, temperature, wind flow, and ground moisture. The bedrock has an influence on the type of soil and what can and cannot be grown in that location, slopes and elevation, floods, fires, high temperatures and freezing temperatures are also abiotic structures. The biotic structures include any living thing in that ecosystem. Grass, rabbits, moles, elk, snakes, birds, bacteria and fungi are part of the biotic structures (tutorvista.com 2014). You cannot have one with out the other in an ecosystem. The grass needs the rain as well as the animals in order to survive. The temperatures help decide which type of animals and plant life will live in that area as well. Carbon function in the ecosystem is to be used by the plants for photosynthesis and to make organic molecules...

...Unit 1 Week 1: The European Union, or EU, is an economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. Created after the Second World War, the partnership was to bring economic cooperation through trade and avoid conflict. The European Economic Community, or EEC, was created in 1958 which brought economic cooperation and a single market. The economic union developed into an organization spanning policy areas. The EEC changed names in 1993 to the EU. The EU bases its rules on a law that states everything it does has to be founded through treaties, voluntarily and democratically agreed by all member countries (How the EU works, 2013). By seeking to acquire a company in the EU, one would benefit from this union because it allows everyone within these countries to work and move freely within the countries and use a single form of currency, the euro, which saves the company from transactions costs. It will allow the company to expand its market. The advantages of expanding into the EU are the single form of currency, saving transaction fees, and the expansion of the company's market. The disadvantages of expanding into the EU are the different cultures, customs, and languages of each country will vary, causing some people to become unaware when they are conducting business what is being said, what should be done, and how to conduct themselves. The best way to overcome this is to hire local translators in each country who can help conduct the business meetings with the...

...affected the people. Once known as hunter-gatherers, advancement allowed them to become known as farmers and domesticators. Once everyone had their own task, whether it be hunting, gathering, farming, or trading, there were extra individuals to take care of other significant needs. The society grew larger because the people discovered travel by horse or foot to other people’s land. People from different tribes married into an opposite tribe. The Indians added more social customs. Children were born and the mothers’ tasks were monitoring their offspring. If the mothers were not tending to kids, they were gathering and preparing food. Conferring to the article “Chapter 5: Hunter and Gathering Societies” from http://www2.fiu.edu/~grenierg/chapter5.htm, Fire fostered a technological and social revolution. It set humans apart from all other animals, giving them some control over the cycle of day and night and more freedom of movement (102). Most importantly, fire strengthened the network of interrelationships within societies (103).” People of tribes went through a social transformation. Additionally, the most drastic change occurred economically. In the beginning establishment, mankind had to hunt animals, plants, and insects for their family to survive. Once the hunter-gatherers learned to raise animals themselves and have them multiply, life became easier. Agriculture was all tribes’ main source of economy. Other people from other tribes wanted to begin trading animals and food...

...Policing Organizations in America Policing organizations in America have different roles and functions at the federal, local and, state level. These roles fall under responsibilities and operational strategies. Although the federal government may be similar to state and local organizations there is difference in the role of federal employee. An Example of a federal agency is the FBI, Homeland security, and the DEA. Employees of this organization are allowed to make an arrest in any state or county, most of the federal agencies “do not provide basic services of protection and criminal investigation” (Walker & Katz, 2008, p. 76), which makes them different from the local and state organizations. Officers employed with the state troopers or highway patrols are employed with the state. Employment at the state level means that an officer is not allowed to make an arrest outside of the state. Officers on the local level are not allowed to make arrest outside of the city or county that employs them. All of these Agencies do have to follow the same code and depend on the federal laws. Police organizations have five primary responsibilities all of these responsibilities work together, which means they have similar structure both operational and administratively. The smaller departments do not have as much management and are much simpler. According to Walker and Katz (2008) “the typical police department is a bureaucracy, with a hierarchical structure and an...
