Camille :
We are going to talk about « Appetite suppressant association». We are a group of students from San Francisco. We have created « appetite suppressant association » for three years in order to help homeless people. We have yet realized some projects to raise funds. In October of 2012, we have organized a run and, 6 months later, an exhibition of painting doing by Anna, a member of our charity. The profits are donated to homeless people in the form of lunch voucher.
Now, we want to set up a project in the long term. To speak about it, we have divided our talk into three parts. First, we will talk about the project idea, then we will mention the objectives and finally we will say a little about the financial aspects.

Charlotte et Marion :
So let’s move on our project idea :
Secondly, our project is a partnership between market gardeners and supermarkets which provide unsold products to show culinary specialities of San Francisco’s city and USA in general. To do this, 2 apprentice cooks of a cooking school, who are members of the association, will go for 6 months to learn basics of cooking to the homeless people. Thanks to this training, homeless people will be able to do a meal for tourists to raise funds to pay for the meal. This project is based in San Francisco because it’s one of the most touristic cities for the USA.
Today we want to realize a new project in the long term to help the homeless people from San Francisco , for months now around 10 months we are working on this project.

Laura B:

Binge Eating

...To me, compulsive overeating is a disease where a person has no control over their food intake. It's a constant eating, a wanting for a more and more. You can't get enough, sort of like a junkie looking for the next high. That is my relationship with food. And I have no control. People that suffer from Compulsive Overeating have what can be labeled not only as an eating disorder, but also as an addiction and even more so as an illness. There are many reasons why people become addicted to food, many using eating as a way to cope with problems or stress in their lives. Eating can also help them conceal their emotions, to fill the emptiness that they feel inside. Food is used as a narcotic to not deal with their feelings or emotions. The tendency for people with this eating disorder is overweight because of the abnormal eating habits. People that do not suffer from the epidemic can and won’t empathize with the victims because of the common stereotypes, stereotype such as greed, gluttony or lack of disciple. Simple suggestions to a sufferer such as “Just slow down or go on a diet” are equally insulting as telling a person suffering from Anorexia to “eat something”. Not only are the words hurtful, but this disorder will negatively bleed into the body and causes health risks. A sufferer with this Compulsive Overeating disorder is prone to high blood-pressure and cholesterol, can develop kidney disease or kidney failure, arthritis, deterioration of the bones, strokes, heart attacks,...
