Charles Chaplin
In London on April sixteenth, eighteenth eighty-nine was the birth of Charles Chaplin, who grew up to become a comedy British actor, who completely changed film. Charles was the only moviemaker daring enough to challenge the coming of sound. During his first year with his company he made fourteen films which including The Tramp in 1915. He was an incredible entertainer, arguably the most famous person in the world. Charles used the same filmmaking methods for years and years. Charles, or what I like to call “Little Tramp” that played the funny walking character with a bamboo cane, and a toothbrush mustache during the silent film era. Today, He is still so relevant because of the legendary moments we will live throughout history.

Charles Chaplin had a lot of “off scenes drama” as many people liked to of called it. He had many affairs with the women and for some it ended with marriage. His first wife was Mildred Harris who was just sixteen years old. Today, it is more common for a sixteen year old to get married but still not very many people would give there blessings. So I can only wonder what went on during the year of 1918 when they got married. Mildred was so sure to of been pregnant. She really wasn’t pregnant, but later she did give birth to Charlie’s first child who unfortunately lived for just three days. They divorced in 1920. He tried to find love in the next two marriages and they also ended with a divorce. It was June 1943 when Charlie married Oona O’Neill he believed he at last found the love of his life and true happiness. Charles was fifty-three and Oona was only eight-teen but nobody paid any attention to the difference in age. Oona and Charlie finally settled down in Switzerland together with their eight
