What are the Index Laws
The index laws are a heap of laws that are used when using calculations of indices and exponents, this helps with reducing the calculating process of potential equations that will be raised when dealing with large numbers in mathematics.

When two numbers that are the same and are been multiplied together are raised to the power a simple principle can be used to shorten the time used when achieving the problem.

Simplifying is shortening an equation down through algebraic letters. for Example:

Usually this would be simplified but you would not usually get a numerical answer. This is because we don’t know what a, and b, are, all they are to us is algebraic pronumerals.
However we could evaluate this if we were told that a=3 and b=2 we could get an actual answer.
So the first step would be simplifying the question down to an understandable level then evaluating the equation with the given information. Then the evaluating of the equation can be done through the process of the simplification process. This is the answer but when working with numbers that are raised to a power, it is easiest and better to simplify the problem as much as possible. Simplifying the equation beforehand will not only make it easier to understand the equation easier but also to do the actual calculations, as can be seen in the examples below.

Well the slope is on an increasing slope BUT because it is an exponential function IT CAN NOT reach 0, or basically the X and Y values can be the smallest number in the world but they will never be the same as 0.
How would you go about interpreting an exponential function? Well there are different ways that you could go about this but the first thing that you need to know is. What do I want to interpret? Well lest have a look at that in the example that can be seen below.
Question:
A friend is using the equation Pn = 4600(1.0712)n to predict the annual tuition at a local college. She says the formula is bases on years after 2010. What does this equation tell us?
So what can we depict from the question? We are looking at what the equation is telling us. Which is… The explicate form of the exponential is Pn = (1+r)nPo which is the same as P0 (1+r)n. So looking at the formula given we can say that 1+r = 1.072 which means the r = 0.72 remembering that the r represents a percentage growth rate then r = 7.2%. The tuition there for is 7.2% of growth each year. Po is the tuition or the cost in this case is $4600 in 2010. So what does this all mean? Well in 2010 the tuition is $4600 with a growth of 7.2% each year.
