List and describe the security and control weaknesses at Sony that are discussed in this case.
There are many problems with the security and control with Sony. The fact that their security database is using an old Apache web server software which is well-known for security issues. Sony also didn't take into consideration to train their techs to anticipate attacks.

What people, organizational and technology factors contributed to these problems?
Sony's employees have contributed to this problem, the lack of training needed was not provided thinking a cyber attack was unheard of through their system. The (CERIAS) who said the problem at Sony was that they Play station Network was using an older web server known as Apache.

What was the business impact of the Sony data losses on Sony and its customers
Sony took a huge hit when this attack happened, the cyber attack was so planned and precise that Sony had no idea that this entire situation was happening. Sony didn't notify the customer base that there has been a cyber attack until a week later, a total of 77 million users' information had been infiltrated. Sony has been prepared to pay out an outstanding $170 million in the 2011 financial year for these actions as well as offering free games to it's customers.

What solutions would you suggest to prevent these problems?
The solutions that Sony would need is better anticipation for cyber attacks; Updating the web server to a more modern web server much rather than the old Apache web server that is well-known for having security issues. Also providing your techs with the proper training will overall increase the defense against cyber attacks. Having the knowledge of the system increases better anticipation of cyber attacks in the future.

...IT SOLUTIONS INC. 608 Oxon Hill Road Oxon Hill, MD 20745 February 17, 2012 To: Mr. Brian Arnold From: Mrs. Sherrie Arnold Subject: Site Survey Benefits In regards to the wireless network project, be advised that it is essential that we have the time and resources to conduct a site survey prior to specifying and installing any network. I am concerned that if we were to rush the installation, we would be handicapping our network and unable to get the maximum from the resources spent to acquire the necessary equipment. There are many factors to figure into the strength of a wireless signal; proper consideration should be given to those factors to ensure we are getting the most from what we buy. Failure to conduct a proper site survey could result in your network’s signal significantly extending beyond the walls of the building. This could cause network vulnerabilities as well as higher cost, if the project is rushed. The site survey is going to give you a better understanding of the infrastructure required for the proposed wireless LAN. It will also assist with future predictions...

...Write a 200- to 300-word response addressing the following questions: How does stress affect the policing community? How does police culture support police officers in evolving job situations? What resources exist to help officers handle stress? When stress affects the policing community it can have a negative impact on officers, even meaning the matter of life and death. It is important for police officers to maintain their stress to a minimal level to avoid many different side effects of it. When police are stressed it can cause depression, anxiety, anger issues, and many more things. Each one of these side effects is not a good thing for an officer because it can cloud their judgment and make them make the wrong decision or not react fast enough. Typically when a police officer is involved with a on the job situation they will go through some type of debriefing or counseling by someone, this is especially true when it comes to a shooting because some officers may feel they did something wrong by shooting and/or killing someone. As well as being debriefed and counseled because of a stressful situation, it also helps them to remember all the details of the event in case it goes to court. There are many resources available to officers to help assist them in dealing with job related stress. When I worked at the prison we had an EAP (Employee Assistance Program). ...Checkpoint - TJX Companies IT/205 March 1, 2013 Checkpoint - TJX Companies This week’s checkpoint deals with the credit card data theft at TJX companies which occurred in July of 2005. According to the book Essentials of MIS, the thieves used a vulnerable wireless network from one of the department stores on the TJX network to gain access. (Laudon & Laudon, 2011, p. 243) After the thieves had access to the network the installed a sniffer program on one of the main computers of the network. They then were able to download any information that they needed to. The TJX Company was still using outdated weak wireless security encryption called WEP, (Wired Equivalent Privacy), instead of upgrading to a more secure version of wireless security, WPA, (Wi-Fi Protected Access). They also did not have any firewalls or data encryption in place. (Laudon & Laudon, 2011, p. 243). The tools that was needed to be in place to help stop this from happening was, the stronger wireless security of Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) standard with more complex encryption, they also needed to install strong firewalls, data encryption on computers, and to transmit credit card data to banks with encryption. This breach had some lasting effects on the TJX Company. One of the first effects was that the company had to strengthen the company’s information system security. They also had to agree to have a third-party auditor review their security measures every two years for the next twenty years...

Student Answer: A push marketing strategy is where the manufacturer uses its sales force and trade promotion money to convince the intermediaries to carry, promote, and sell the product to end users. A push strategy works when a manufacturer negotiates with a retailer to stock their product, directs selling to customers in showrooms or face to face, ensuring there is efficient supply chain allowing retailers an efficient supply. A pull strategy involves motivating customers to seek out your product through intermediaries by advertising promotions, and other forms of communication. Week 5: Checkpoint: System Development Life Cycle

...Week 5: Checkpoint: The System Development Life Cycle A system study needs to be performed on an accounting information system. There are four stages of the system development life cycle (SDLC) of a business information system. The cycles are; planning and investigation, analysis, design, and implementation, follow-up and maintenance. A broad view point needs to be used to perform a system study for planning and investigation. A mission, planning goals, and objectives needs to be placed. A team should be set up that will speak with the management continuously. This team can be outside the IT department for that broad view point. Also, management will need to appoint a steering committee to work with the study team. Problems may appear and the study team should do a crucial investigation of the system. Advising the steering committee of the findings will be done. After finding the source the committee will decide what is to be mended. Either, do nothing, do a further investigation, or execute a formal system analysis. The system analysis stage is organized to examine the system in detail. Goals need to be set, such as; general system goals, top management goals, and operating goals. General system objectives show benefits, decisions, access and flexibility to change. Top management goals provide managers with planning data to assist in creating important decisions for the future. Operating management goals provide specific managers with assistance in present decisions. System...

...I would start out by explaining to the customer what Microsoft Access is. Microsoft Access is software that manages databases. The database collects, organizes, and stores information about things. The second thing I would do is introduce some basic terms of Microsoft Access. A database table looks a lot like a spreadsheet. There are rows and columns like a spreadsheet, which makes it easier to convert a spreadsheet into a database. Each row and column in a table is referred to as a record. Records are where the information that you are entering is stored. The rows hold one type of information; the columns hold a different type of information. Reports are the data that is processed in the tables. Basically, if you have a datasheet made for yearly spending, you can look up a report for whatever year you’re looking for or the current year. Macros in Microsoft Access are a type of programming that helps add functionality to a database. Macros can help simplify things if you have enough experience with it. One example of how Macros can help is, when a person types a certain command, a report can open, a query can be ran, a report can be closed and so on. This programming basically makes life easier by using simple commands. The description of these would vary because depending on how much they know about technology, they may or may not be able to understand these explanations. In order to determine their experience level, one can generally tell by the way the...

...10/11/2011   SCI/241 Multivitamins What are some of the benefits you stand to receive by taking it every day? It has been centuries since the thought that vitamins from some foods could cure some illnesses, but even longer to understand which ones and what aliments would be helped. Today we can be certain that there are some foods that can help, and the vitamins or minerals in the foods are the important parts of that. They can help with energy, decrease the chance of disease, and increase overall health. Vitamin D helps to promote healthy bones; Vitamin E helps your skin, and helps to fight some disease. Does taking a multivitamin every day raise your intake of a particular vitamin or mineral to near-toxic levels? According to a few readings, it is cautioned to everyone to avoid any excessive intake of a vitamin and mineral over the recommended daily value for each ingredient. So it is always important to take the recommended amount, talk to a doctor if you are taking any other medications to make sure the vitamins and minerals with not negatively impact your other medication, and to read the label and make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients, for example, wheat, soy, or dairy. The fat-soluble vitamins are the ones that people should make sure they control their intake for, because they are not excreted through the urine like water-soluble vitamins are.
