A true scholar, in my opinion, is a person who not only knows information about math, science, literature, etc., but uses this information to make a difference in the world. Also, a scholar should not just know the information for the sake of knowing it, they should want to continue to learn about the subject, and become more interested in things that have to do with the topic they are learning about. I believe that Chet Douglass is more of a scholar than Gene, and although he doesn’t realize it, Gene makes these points quite clear, although he makes them seem like flaws.
