I have held several jobs in my short work history. Each job came with its own unique challenges and responsibilities ranging from pouring someone’s Coke, to helping a mother stop her child’s bleeding nose. in my mind, being a cashier at Chic-Fil- A and a lifeguard at the local water work was completely different. At Chic-Fil A, I had to display hospitality, responsibility when dealing with customer's orders, and also have a strong work ethic. While being a lifeguard, I had a bigger sense of responsibility, I had to be more serious, and be detail orientated because lives could possibly be at risk.
As a cashier for Chic-Fil-A, I had various responsibilities. However, above all, I was to ensure customer satisfaction with as much hospitality as I could summon. This was, by far, the most monotonous part of the job. My fellow Chic-fil-a employees and I were required to respond to every “thank you” we recieved with, “My Pleasure”. That phrase quickly integrated itself into my vocabulary with each passing customer. Amongst my other responsibilities was to make drinks to the customer's’ order and provide any dipping sauces they …show more content…
For starters, the stakes were much higher at this job since lives could be at risk. Before I was allowed to do the job, I had to a lot of training in order to be qualified as a lifeguard. I was required to watch a videos of possible scenarios that could occur while being on the scene such as drownings. Viewing videos were quite traumatic, but it did make me realize how significant my job is.While drownings are not an everyday occurrence, the video ensured that it could happen at unexpected moments and I must be prepared at all times.Hospitality was not the most important quality at this job. It was no longer expected of me to respond with “My pleasure” or to hand out sauces. The only thing expected of me was to watch the water and not let anything bad
