Immigration, immigration reform, amnesty, Dream Act, and the “Dreamers” are all popular news topics these days. Immigration reform should be the path way to citizenship for all illegal immigrants, providing work permits, helping stimulate money for the economy and help keep families together. Provding work permits in the US for illegal immigrants is a great benefit to them. In August of 2012 President Obama’s administration approved the Differed Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). “As of May 31, 2013, USCIS has accepted about 520,000 DACA applications. They have approved a little over 365,000 and denied 3,816 applications.” (Leiva, 2013) This was a major accomplishment for the Dreamers who in 2001 introduced the DREAM Act and was denied in several occasions. Although DACA is a temporary solution to immigration reform it’s a great step forward. The majority of the applicants are college graduates with Associates and Bachelor’s degrees who until now weren’t able to work in their graduate field. Even though some states have opposed President Obama’s order for DACA with restricting approved applicants with not being able to have a driver’s license they have overcome it with other means or moving to a DACA friendly state. Hypnotherapy has been seen to be a valuable tool so far in the modifications of problem behaviors, such as overeating for a person who is overweight or obese. The hypothesis of the research proposal is that those who receive hypnotherapy in conjunction with a supervised diet and exercise program will lose more weight that those who only participate in the diet and exercise program. METHOD: The 20 participants will be chosen from a target population. In order to be a participant in the research proposal the individual must be between the ages of 21 and 45, of either gender, have a primary diagnosis of obesity (with or without co-morbidities), have tried at least one weight-loss program prior, and be either referred to the bariatric program by a physician, or be a current patient of the bariatric program. The participants will be broken into two groups of 10 participants. Group 1 consists of 10 participants who will participate in hypnotherapy in combination with a diet and exercise program established by a dietary team. Perdue School of Business Salisbury University, Salisbury, Maryland USA ABSTRACT Previous survey research revealed that consumers perceived online shopping and buying to be a time saving practice. Paradoxically, they only rarely reported using that tactic to save time, introducing a contradiction. Focus group research and unstructured interviews among active, time-pressured consumers provide partial solutions to the puzzle. Two types of online shopping benefits appeal to two types of consumers: Those experiencing situational time pressure respond well to "time-saving" appeals. Another, larger proportion, whose personal inclinations or personality traits result in time pressure are more interested in doing more tasks quickly or engaging in polychronic activities. These findings suggest online merchants simultaneously promote both time-saving and quicker accomplishment of more tasks. Though they are two sides of the same coin, time-pressured consumers tend to see only one side or the other.
