Murphey, David, Bonnie Mackintosh, and Marci McCoy-Roth. "Early Childhood Policy Focus: Healthy Eating and Physical Activity." Www.childtrends.org. 25 July 2011. Web. . This was a very eye opening article to read. I always knew that good nutrition and proper physical activity was a great thing for children but I guess I never knew just how incredibly important it is for them. This article talks about how we naturally think that our children in society today are getting enough physical activity and how that is not necessarily the case. Not only is the lack of proper nutrition jeopardizing their health it is also jeopardizing our children’s ability to do well in school. In this article children ages 2-5 scored a 60 out of 100 points for healthy eating. This findings in this article stated that children are not getting enough vitamin rich foods and nutrient dense foods. These children also need to decrease their saturated fat, intake of sodium and high calorie foods. Not only does having improper nutrition at the early childhood age put them at higher risk for obesity later on in life, it also jeopardizes their development, their readiness for school ad also have lifelong effects on adult productivity. Children in this day and age are all too often missing the very important nutrients and vitamins needed in their diets and negatively impacting the way that they are able to learn and how much that these children are able to learn. This article states that approximately 9.6 million U.S. children ages 0-6 years old are living in “food Insecure” households which means that more than often theses households do not have to proper supply of food to provide the proper nutrition for their children. Food insecure children are very high risk compared to food secure children. The food insecure children are

...Middle childhood is a very important transition in a child's life. It's where they learn to instill what they have been taught, good and bad. Children learn from sight and experience. A child who has had a traumatic childhood is going to act out on what they have experienced, even if it's wrong, it's all they know. A child that may have experienced the best life, can still act out, but the ratio is much lower. When children enter adult hood, this is where they get to display their self and their moral development that they learned throughout their childhood. Moral development will show through their actions and personality. If there were no social skills or love from the parents in that child's life during the first five years of life, then that child will live their lives accordingly. Gender and Peer relationships...

...Early experiences are significant, however they cannot be considered the sole basis of an individual as an individual is the product of all of his or her experiences (Egeland & Carlson, 2004). There is an ongoing transaction between the developing child and their changing circumstances (Sroufe, Carlson, Levy & Egeland, 1999). Most studies suggest quite a high degree of continuity exists between patterns of attachment which develop in childhood, and those that are lived out in adult attachment relationships (Starky, 1999). Bowlby wrote that “the individual turns at every stage of the journey on an interaction between the organism as it has developed up to that moment and the environment in which it then finds itself” (Bowlby, 1969/1982, as cited...

...Childhood obesity is common in all parts of the world. One of the reasons obesity is at an all-time high is, because familiars are no longer eating healthier, because of poverty. Eating out at fast food restaurants, and buying the lower cost foods in the grocery stores is all most families can afford, because of their income. When this happens, most families only buy what they can afford to keep their families from going hungry. Another reason is because of the lack of health conscience.
