Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic is a very popular alternative medical treatment system. Chiropractors work with various parts of the body to ease pain, correct alignment issues and help provide the support the body needs to naturally heal itself. “The term “chiropractic” combines the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (practice) to describe a treatment done by hand.” Chiropractic care is centered around hands on therapy because of adjustments with the spine, the body’s main structure. According to research and the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) cost data report, in 2007 chiropractic care was one of the most exercised form of complementary health practices. Over 18 million adults and 2 million children had expedited chiropractic medicine in a year’s time. With that being said, one of the main problems people have deal with lower back pain. However, chiropractic medicine is also used for sports injuries, job related injuries, pain management and natural relaxation. Not only is chiropractic services less invasive, but is also less expensive and nerve racking. For example, a patient with chronic lower back pain could benefit more from the chiropractic field rather than surgery or medication. The high risks and chances of improvement with surgical procedures vary with the patient. Also the time it can take to fully recover after a major surgery could be even more strenuous. Chiropractic care, in my opinion, should be ones first step to recovery because it comes with less risk than a major, overly priced surgery, such as temporary discomfort and minor aches rather than a risk of not being able to walk. There are also lower risks of side effects that come with chiropractic care than with surgery. I have had a few family members who experienced multiple back surgeries because the first one was not successful. To me, it isn’t even worth taking that risk of it becoming worse. Also as someone who experience lower back pain myself, the thought of surgery isn’t even a possibility. When choosing my treatment, I decided to give chiropractic medicine a try and I was completely content with the results. Not only did it save me a great deal of medical bills and debt, but it was a quick way to relieve unwanted and unnecessary pain in just a few visits. Another perk to chiropractic treatment, is that it can benefit the body in more ways than one. It can help you manage a better lifestyle, eat and exercise right, relax and cut down stress. As for friends and family members, I would highly recommend chiropractic care because its safer, quicker, more affordable and relaxing rather than laying on an operating table.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

...Benefits of Chiropractic Care Everyone has had a moment when they haven’t felt like their health was a 100 percent. We complain about our backs, necks, having headaches, and feeling fatigue. Most people can relate to these problems. These problems have been around for centuries. All that has changed is how we treat our pain. Most of us probably pop an Advil or some sorts of pain killer and go on with the day. Then at the end of the day the pain probably returns, maybe even worse than before. This most likely happens because medicine is taken to relieve the pain not to fix what's causing the pain. What everyone should consider is putting the pain killers down and making an appointment with a chiropractor. What is a chiropractor? “A chiropractor is health care professional focused on the diagnosis of pain. They treat through hand adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine. Most chiropractors seek to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients as well as to educate them on how they can account for their own health through exercise, ergonomics and other therapies to treat back pain. Chiropractic is generally categorized as alternative medicine or complementary medicine” (Bowen). They focus mainly on finding the cause to eliminate the pain not just treat it. According to Dr. Kara Johnson D.C. they focus on getting the patient back to maximum health by moving interferences in the spine for healing in a safe and comfortable way. Many may think that the profession of...

...Chiropractic Is Its Own Profession Dr. Lehman fails to realize what the Chiropractic profession, the health care system, and various other factors represent. According to the Medical Dictionary, health care system is “an organized plan of health service,.” and in the Business Dictionary it is a “complex of facilities, organizations, and trained personnel engaged in providing health care within a geographical area.” The definition does not state that every organization, institution or physician has to provide primary care, but that each individual as part of the system has to provide their services to help with people's health. The health care system is composed of groups of physicians that provide good quality care in one area of expertise, so that it can be trustworthy and dependable.
