CHOOSING A FRIEND

I have found Jesus to be my true friend, and I can always depend on Him to guide me. Sometimes when the road gets rough, and the storms are raging in my life, He’s stands true. Sometimes God allows us to go through storms so we truly understand who He is. It is then that we realize that He controls both the storms of nature, and the storms of the troubled heart. Jesus’ power can calm any storm, and help us deal with the problems we face. He is willing to help if we only ask Him. We should not discount His power even in terrible trials. He keeps making a way for me, and bringing me out without a doubt. In the darkest moments, He shows me there’s light at the end of the tunnel. WHAT A FRIEND I HAVE IN JESUS.
God will never forsake you; just put your trust in Him and not man. There are times when man will let you down, they change like the weather; but God is the same today, tomorrow and forever more. There were times in my life when friends changed like turn coats, and started throwing darts, persecuting me. But if I love God as my friend, I must have a forgiving heart. Even If you find it hard to forgive someone who has hurt you, forgive anyway. If appropriate, tell this person you would like to heal your relationship. Many times you will discover that the right action leads to the right feeling. Romans 12:18 reminds us that, “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceable with all men.” I thank God that He never changes from day to day. I learn to base my friendship on commitment to God, and not on others, because God will remain your friend to the end.
I used to run to my friends with my problems. Instead of complaining to man, God wants you to confide in Him. People often complain to one another and nothing gets accomplished. Many of us are good at complaining to each other. We need to learn to take our problems to the One that can do something about them. My God can do anything, but fail; carrying your worries, stress and daily struggles by yourself shows that you have not trusted God fully with your life. Letting God have your worries is active, not passive. Don’t submit to circumstances, but to the Lord who controls circumstances. 1 Peter 5:7 says “cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you.”
Our friends and associates affect us, sometimes profoundly. Be careful who you choose as your closest friends. When most people need advice, they go to their friends first. Friends accept them and usually agree with them, but that is why they may not be able to help with difficult problems.
Our friends are so much like us that they may not have any answers we haven’t already heard. Instead, we should seek out older and wiser people to advise us. Wise people have experienced a lot in life, they are not afraid to tell the truth. Who are the wise, godly people who can warn you of the pitfalls ahead? The word of God say, He that walked with wise men shall be wise, but companion of fools shall be destroyed. Instead of talking to my associates, I learn to talk to the mother of the church or my pastor. Most of all learn to take everything to God in prayer. One thing about calling on Jesus is that the line is never busy, but your friends’ lines could be or may even be disconnected. If you chose God as your friend, your direct line is always connected. Just keep the communication open and always talk to Him about anything.
CHOOSE HIM AS YOUR FRIEND TODAY!!!

Advice to a Friend on Choosing a Mistress

...30/11/2013 Rhetorical Analysis of Advice to a Friend on Choosing Mistress Advice to a Friend on Choosing Mistress is a letter written by Benjamin Franklin in June 25th 1745 to his friend. The speech of this letter is essentially communicated to single men. The author gave advices particularly to his friend on which type of woman he should date if he is not ready to get married. Franklin preceded his lustful consulting by an apology for the marriage, recalling his friend how much carnal pleasures are favourable in a legal and recognized union. In his message, Franklin advises his friend that marriage is the best solution not for only sexual desires but also the undisputable source of solid happiness. Having suspicions that his friend would not follow his guidance, Franklin recommends him to choose older mistresses instead of younger ones and lists eight valuables reasons to better support his argument. Franklin commences his essay by presenting advantages of the marriage. He says ‘’ I know of no medicine fit to diminish the violent inclinations you mention…Marriage is the proper remedy. It is most natural state of man and therefore the state in which you can are most likely to find solid happiness’’. Through those sentences, Franklin seems to estimate that from a masculine’ view, one of the main advantages of the marriage is to bring pacification toward requirements of the flesh. Choosing the Right Pet for My Child

...Choosing the Right Pet for My Child ENG121 Composition I 6 August 2010 Choosing the Right Pet for My Child Choosing a pet can be a very challenging and difficult process. There are many things to consider before you can really choose the perfect pet. Pet type would be my first consideration. Other things to think about include how frequently the animal will have to visit the vet, whether there is a family member or friends that have pet allergies, and whether you want an animal that is a house pet, or if you want a pet that will stay in a cage or outside. Pet types to be considered are dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and small animals like gerbils and hamsters. The most popular pet types are dogs and cats. In any case, choosing a pet should never be taken lightly. When considering a pet type, safety should be a major factor in that decision making process. A dog or a cat would be a perfect pet for my family. Either could easily fit my family’s life-style. Dogs have always been considered man’s best friend. Cats on the other hand are very playful; they are not demanding, they are affectionate and they can be your best friend too. Family interaction with a pet is very important. Dogs have to be walked daily. Many people love to walk their dog. It gives the owner the opportunity to exercise and enjoy it. Cats do not have to be walked. They are self sustaining. That is great for the very busy owner. Dogs come in different sizes. A dog’s size can range...

Personal Narrative: My Experiences In High School

...Being raised by an impoverished Hispanic family led to my parents desiring the very best for me. A preconception that friends were distractions and that education was the first priority was instilled within me from a very young age. At first, throughout my years in Meadowbrook Elementary and Seminole Middle school, I was able to keep up with all of my academics by myself. Soon, however, this concept of a free for all environment within a high school setting was, in hindsight, a disadvantage in the long run. By not creating those ever-lasting connections with other students from an early age, I entered high school as a lone wolf, which resulted in carrying all of my academics on my own shoulder compared to others who worked amongst each other to be more...

Choosing Between a Skilled Nursing Facility or Home Health Care for Your Elderly Loved Ones

...Choosing between a Skilled Nursing Facility Or Home Health Care for your Elderly Loved Ones Kelly M. Skawienski University of Phoenix While a facility, like a nursing home, is a good option for extreme care of the elderly, most cases show that living in their own homes, surrounded by familiar people and things can promote better health and wellness. While working in the health care field I have worked in both fields; a Skilled Nursing Facility and Home Health Care. Some important points to consider in choosing which option is best for you or your loved one are the cost; how much is it going to cost for each of these two options, services provided; what help will you be receiving for your money, flexibility and freedom of accessibility; having friends and family visit and being able to travel, go for a walk, and last is the comfort of the client or patient would they do better in a sterile environment or in their own home. The cost of a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) as most already know can be expensive. The average cost is more than $50,000.00 a year and climbing, and it will vary widely depending on where you live (Long Term Care, 2012). Your employee health insurance does not pay for a SNF, so about one third of the residents pay from their own funds. This can eat away at their savings very quickly, most people run out of funds after six months. Five percent of people have purchased long term care insurance which will cover the cost of a SNF (Long...

Laws of Proximity Theory

...Gestalt Laws of Perceptual Organization. This specific principle can be translated to convenience since whatever group that is being perceived is being formed on the basis that they are near one another. thus logically forming a group. A better explanation for this would be to use an example from a scientific observation from the 1950's at MIT. Researchers were studying friendship formation by asking 300 MIT students to list down their closest friends. Shockingly, the researchers quickly found out that The Law of Proximity applied to how people chose their friendships. During their research they noticed that if someone lived one door away, there was a 41% chance they were listed as a close friend. However, as the number of doors increased, the likelihood decreased such as those people living four doors away had only a 10% chance of being listed as a close friend. The same can be said for choosing a mate. If you have a girlfriend or boyfriend, chances are they are in your proximity sometime during the day. Besides being used in choosing friends or searching for a partner, The Law of Proximity is also used in the media and businesses. Symbols and various logos use the Law of Proximity to create...
