Christopher Shinn’s Teddy Ferrara (2013), introduces us to issues that homosexual students in a college are faced with. The story takes place in a college university and the surrounding area. During an intimate moment with his companion, Teddy Ferrara’s roommate spies on him. He broadcasts the video over the internet. Ferrara eventually becomes overwhelmed with his situation and commits suicide. I believe and want you to believe that Ferrara was a victim of manipulation and eventually it caused him to take his own life. Victimhood is a kind of experience that a person may endure when someone he or she trusts violates him or her. In other words, when someone is treacherous towards a person, he or she is victimizing that person. A victim can be an individual who a dishonest person manipulates. Teddy Ferrara finds himself in this type of predicament when he trusts his roommate and finds out he is actually disloyal and conniving. I hope this teaches my reader that bullying and victimizing a person can effect a person deeply and the consequences can be extremely horrific.
