The abstract was a good representation of the information found in the article. The method and purpose were clearly stated. Chu and Dill were able to capture the general idea of their study in a succinct paragraph.
The study focused specifically on female psychiatric patients so it could not be generalized to the entire population. The sample of 98 is decent size and there were enough subjects who fit all of the categories being measured to provide adequate numbers for each group. Chu and Dill only recorded the results for patients who completed the entire study so there is no issue with partial information skewing the results.
Comparing the results of three different tests not associated with each other was a good way to ensure the tests were not tending towards a specific correlation. Through comparing the findings of different tools they were able to justify true results and reduce the interference of chance. As a result supporting the validity of the study in measuring and answering the intended problems.
