Nicotine is an extremely addictive ingredient of cigarettes. Nicotine plays the part of getting users “hooked”. Although nicotine is a dangerous chemical used in cigarettes there are a number of other chemicals to watch out for. The companies in turn maintain several brands of tobacco products. The leading tobacco companies are Phillip Morris, British American Tobacco, Japan Tobacco International, Altria Group, Imperial Tobacco Group, Reynolds American, ITC, Lorillard, KT&G, and Gudang Garam ("Statista", 2013). After all you are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. He called my bluff and dumped the contents of the coffee can on his bed, paraphernalia planting itself in my father’s possession. I didn’t know how to react in the sudden barrage, but my dad obviously did, he unrolled the bag of pot, picked the healthiest bud that he could find, then the most amazing thing happened... My dad opened his nightstand drawer pulled out a tiki pipe, and loaded the bowl. He took a long draw off the pipe, skunky smoke poured down his throat and into his lungs, then he released it, coughing ever so slightly, and handed me the pipe....

...I once listened to a speech where ethics were involved that affected me as a listener. It was an informative speech cautioning smokers to smoke in designated areas only. Although I am not a smoker, there were times that the speaker alienated smokers. The speaker stated that for the second time in three months, this facility suffered a fire in close proximity to a building. The first fire was caused by the careless disposal of a cigarette butt and the second fire is still officially under investigation by the fire department; however, preliminary findings point to the exact same cause - careless disposal of a cigarette butt in an area outside a designated smoking area. The callous disregard of smoking regulations on the part of a minority of employees represents a direct threat to the safety and livelihoods of other employees. I cannot and will not continue to turn a blind eye to these threats. My primary responsibilities revolve around the safety and health of our valued employees, and the successful execution of our vital work. He went on to say he would not permit the behavior of a few careless or malicious people who violate our existing smoking policies and regulations to jeopardize the workforce and the mission. For those who continue to ignore the existing policies and regulations governing smoking on these premises will not continue to be warned. If someone is caught breaking the rules, there will be no verbal or written counseling. He or she will be subject to...

I In this paper, I will explain how I would handle the situation if I were Charles Renfold, describe the policy on smoking that I would recommend, explain how this case would change if the situation was not about old smoke but the smell of Alice’s perfume or Frank’s body odor and explain whether it is fair or reasonable to ban employees from smoking in their cars in company parking lot. Explain how you would handle this situation if you were Charles Renfold. Mr. Renford had already explained that the law in their state requires a smoke free work area and that his area was smoke free. That Alice and Frank were always considerate when Darlene comes into the file room by not smoking and opening the windows. ...structure fires, 381,000 of which were residential structures. There were 2,405 deaths, 13,175 injuries and over 7 billion dollars’ worth of property loss… This means nearly 80% of structure fires occur in the home. So how do you prevent yourself from becoming one of these statistics? I’ll talk to you about smoking, cooking, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and dryers. And also some fire survival tips and fire planning that you should use. First I’ll talk about smoking and why you shouldn’t smoke in your home. Every year, almost 1,000 smokers and non-smokers are killed in home fires caused by cigarettes and other smoking materials. Fires caused by cigarettes and other smoking materials are preventable. Next is cooking, In 2010, cooking was involved in an estimated 156,400 home structure fires that were reported to U.S. fire departments. These fires caused 420 deaths, 5,310 injuries and $993 million in direct property damage. By following a few simple safety tips you can protect you and your family from a potential home fire. ...do some illegal things. For example, a couple of them smoked marijuana frequently, and constantly tried to pressure me into doing it as well. Additionally, they went to parties that often had alcohol; and they would drink as well. I offered them advice on several occasions that they should not be using these substances. When it comes to marijuana and alcohol, I am completely against it. I’ve never smoked or drank alcohol in my life, mostly because of religious reasons, even with all the pressure I received from some friends I had. It started to get more than I could handle when one of my friends invited some of us over to play some video games. Not even 20 minutes into being at his house, they began to pull out marijuana and started to smoke it, while I was in the room. I asked them to not do that right there, but they insisted on doing it there and then. So I left, and I am very glad I did. From that point on, I was stuck between remaining friends with these guys who I had known for quite some years, and putting up with their use of drugs around me, or saying so long and stop affiliating myself with them. So one of the most difficult decisions of my life, I had to completely cut off these friends from my life. At the time, I wanted to turn back, and find a way to resolve it, but I realized that I had already tried...

...Zubura Zubura etting high on marijuana has been happening for Centuries. Here we take a look at what we call the 3 Levels of HIGH on Cannabis. We specify marijuana for obvious reasons. Once you have read these descriptions, we hope you'll agree and see (in your own experience) how we have come to these accurate conclusions. Below you will find our description of basically what happens when you smoke marijuana, and what happens when you continue to indulge. Some believe there are more than 3 levels of getting high, and they have every reason as marijuana affects everyone a little differently. The apparatus you choose to smoke your pot in will vary. While this can influence the rate at which you attain these levels, it does not negate the fact that you go through each one to experience the next (no matter ho ractice: Limited to taking only two or possibly three hits (tokes, inhales, etc.) Effect: This is the first level experienced in getting high on pot. You catch a nice, calm, enjoyable, floaty, buzz. First time users may claim to be stoned. This buzz practice is good for the daily user who begins their day with a buzz (not to be confused with "wake & bake" - see Stoned). Catching a Buzz is not enough to get burnt out, and yet you have not truly reached the Level of High (so to speak). You can revisit your joint or pipe later and refresh your buzz by taking a couple more hits. This can be continued through-out the day with few (if any) ill effects. Explanation:...

...The Importance Of Fire Safety At Home Fires can be devastating. They can tear apart families and destroy homes. The worst thing about fires at home and within business is that most of them are entirely preventable. Over 72% of the recorded fatalities from fires occur in the home. Every day, people start fires by falling asleep with cigarettes in their hands, leaving candles burning in unattended rooms and by leaving discarded items in front of open fireplaces. The fires that are started are careless and completely avoidable. Also, we can't forget fireworks. It can seem like a good idea to celebrate a happy occasion with fireworks or by setting off a glowing lantern. If you do decide to release any of these items, consider the following: Can you insure that you will not be endangering anyone around you? Do you have enough room to set it out, unobstructed into the night? Accidents are all too common where these items are concerned and you wouldn’t want to be responsible for any devastating consequences. Perhaps consider going to a staged event or an area away from the home to enjoy fireworks or glowing lanterns. Also in recent days, there have been stories of debilitating fires, that have destroyed homes and taken lives all across our region, even in the Oxon Hill area. During October 2010, there was a fire in the Rosecroft Mews Apartment Complex, on the 2400 block of Corning Avenue in Fort Washington, MD, which is very close to the Oxon Hill/Fort Washington border...

...Hallana Paula Barbosa Fundamentals of College Writing Dr. June E. Dunn E 103.10 Teenager’s behaviors The 1938 movie, Reefer Madness, suggests that teenagers who smoke marijuana are problematic to society. Since the early 1900s, drugs have been one of parents’ worst enemies. Marijuana changes a person both mentally and physically. According to reefermadness.org, the film was intended to be shown to parents as a morality tale attempting to teach them about the dangers of marijuana. The movie was revolving around the tragic events that happened when high school students tried marijuana. The curse of marijuana abuse is spreading across the United States of America like a disease and must be stopped. Parents are instructed to learn what they can about the evils of this addiction and warn their children against it. Dr. Carroll talks about the dangers for the horrified parents of the students at the school. He tells them that marijuana is more addictive than they imagine and that it could lead to violence and sexual misconduct. To illustrate his point, he tells the parents about a recent case they may have heard about, one which happened in their city, near their school. Three innocent young people are drawn in by the promise of a party. First Jimmy and Bill attend the party, followed by two exemplary students, and later, Jimmy’s sister and Bill’s girlfriend, Mary. Smoking the weed makes you laugh uncontrollably, dance wildly, and indulge in promiscuous sexual behaviors...

...dangerous and harmful. It is important to education each other as much as possibe to help prevent injries or deadly accidents. There are four stages that happen in every fire. Those stages are Incipient, Growth, Fully Developed, and Decay. Each stage plays a role in every fire. Understanding each stage, and how to handle or prevent it is critical in becoming in control of a fire. Flameovers and backdrafts are not consider stages, but also are definitely factors of a fire. These factors sometimes can be prevented. Some methods of prevention are taugh at fire academies, or fire schools, to new firefighters, and are constistly being developed. Incipient, also know as the "ignition" stage, is the first stage of a fire. In this stage smoke may began before the fire actually flames up. This is the stage where heat, oxygen, and a fuel source combine to ignite the fire. At this stage it can be controlled by a household fire extinguinsher. Growth is the second stage of a fire. With the initial flame used as a heat sourse, more flames flare up. Flaring up makes the size of the fire increase and the plume reaches the ceiling. In a room hot gases meet at the celing of the roomwhich cause all fuels in that room to be closer to its ignition temperature. In which the fire will eventually spread. During this growth stage is when a flashover can happen. Flashovers occur when a room or other areas becomes heated to the point where flames flashover the entire surface. Temperatures...
