It all started in 1991, when Cindy was born. Cindy was born into a rich family from Los Angeles, California. Her father was in charge of the marketing department of a well-known clothing line. Her mother, just like any other woman in L.A, was a housewife who did very little housewife duties. Cindy lived comfortably in her lavish home, but she was often alone. Her mother and father would go on vacations whenever possible, but would leave her. She didn’t mind it all that much, during these times is when she was able to get most of her schoolwork done. Cindy was a bookworm. The type of girl who never went out, she just worked on projects and papers. Her parents’ vacation to Fiji was nothing but an ordinary vacation, except that she would never see them again. On the way back their connecting flight to the main land crashed and they both died on impact. Naturally Cindy was devastated, as would any other teenage girl who had just lost their parents. But, Cindy was a mature girl who would get through it. She had college coming up and it just happened that her dream college, NYU, was in the same city as where she would be living, with her aunt and uncle. Cindy finished out her senior year in L.A and moved to New York City soon after. Just like her father, Cindy’s uncle was a big business man in N.Y.C. He was always on business trips so Cindy was left with her aunt and two cousins. Cindy was not fond of them at all. They weren’t blood related to her. Her uncle had just remarried the year before and had never met them until she moved in before college. All three of them were spoiled. Cindy believed that her “aunt” was a gold digger and married her uncle just for his money. At the end of the summer Cindy had had enough of her extended family and decided she wanted to live in her own apartment while she was in school. But to do this Cindy would have to sacrifice. Cindy’s trust fund went mainly to her tuition at New York University so this meant that she needed to find a job so that she could live away from her aunt. Her easiest option was to be a maid for her aunt and two cousins. The job paid well enough for Cindy to move into an apartment with a girl she had met at her orientation. This girl, Callie, was a fashion design major who would grow to be Cindy’s sister she never had. Cindy’s aunt often had lavish parties when her husband was away. It was a way for her to act twenty years younger and be in the “in” crowd. But with these parties Cindy was stuck cleaning up and serving food. Not only did she act as the maid during and after the party but she also had to plan every party. The guests would always spill their drinks and drop food so Cindy would have to clean extensively late into the night. Cindy’s aunt always invited the same people to every party. The parties were routine. Cindy would go out the day before and get all the food and decorations that were needed. Then the day of the party she would spend the whole day cooking and baking and cleaning. She felt as if it was a waste of time. There was no need to clean when the party guests would just trash the place. Even though she hated being the “maid”, she enjoyed all the college boys that would come with their parents or that were invited by her two cousins. Now these cousins were severely unattractive. The only reason boys talked to them was because they were rich. They would come to the parties just to meet other girls. But Cindy always would see the same gorgeous boy at every single party. He always came with his parents and was a little shy. Of course she tried to get away without talking to him since she was very nervous around attractive boys. But at every party she would catch herself staring at him from afar and hoped she would never get caught. She never did, but at the same time she hoped that he would catch her staring and would come say something to her. This Christmas party would be nothing different than any other party. But Cindy had something going on that day with Callie. For one of Callie’s classes she had to have a fashion show and Cindy wanted to go to support her. Many big name designers were going to be there so Callie needed all the support she could get during the show. But Cindy would have to talk to her evil aunt before she could do anything. Not only did she have to ask if she could not work but she also had to see if she could borrow shoes to wear for the fashion show. Reluctantly her aunt agreed for her not to work but she had to work another party without pay. Cindy was willing to make this sacrifice to help out one of her only friends. The day of the fashion show and party came and Cindy was in a hurry trying to get ready. While she was so busy trying to get an outfit picked out she completely forgot that she was going to borrow shoes from her aunt. Cindy and Callie rushed to get over to her aunts apartment. They were already running behind and there was going to be traffic through out the city. When they arrived at the apartment, Cindy went up while Callie stayed in the cab. Once Cindy got to the apartment on the penthouse floor she had no time to chitchat. But Cindy had no idea that her aunt would let her borrow her brand new Christian Louboutin’s. They were perfect. They were the perfect black pumps with the classic red sole. She was in aw that her aunt would let her wear such a perfect shoe. Her aunt explained that they were a gift from the not so present husband and that they were the wrong size and was unable to be returned. Cindy didn’t care at all she was just happy that she would fit in to this high dollar fashion show she would be attending. While Cindy was in her aunt’s apartment, a boy flagged down the cab out front not knowing Callie was waiting in it. The boy was heading to the same exact fashion show so he hopped in the cab and waited for Cindy to get back so they could leave. When Cindy got in the cab, she was shocked. They boy was the boy at every party. The attractive boy who she tried to avoid at all cost. Of course Callie had no idea because she had never been to any of the parties and Cindy only gave her a general description of the boy. Cindy described him as tall, dark, and handsome. This statement was a total cliché, but the only thing that came to her mind when she described him. Cindy secretly texted her best friend and explained that this was the boy she had a crush on since the very first party. The boy, Brad, had no inclination who Cindy even was. At all the parties she just wore her maid uniform and wore little makeup and did not even attempt to do her hair. But today, she dressed up to the nines. She had the perfect little red dress. The dress was a duplicate of Callie’s best piece that was in the show. The dress was absolutely perfect and with the shoes she looked like she just stepped off the runway. Brads first thought was “Wow! She’s gorgeous!” He was completely unaware that this is the girl he had seen countless times at her aunt’s parties. On the cab ride over they shared a wonderful conversation about school and their hobbies, but Cindy never mentioned her job working for her aunt. She instead said that she lived in the building in the suite next to her aunts. She believed that this would impress him enough to keep him interested. Once they arrived at the fashion show he asked Cindy if she would like to sit with him since Callie had to go back stage and work her part of the show. During the whole show he had a feeling that he had seen her before. He couldn’t put his finger on where he had seen her but he knew that he had seen her multiple times. The fashion show was going quite smoothly, but Callie was having a rough time getting everything together so she called Cindy to come help her. She called her in a panic and needed her back there as soon as possible. Cindy ran back stage, but lost her borrowed Christian Louboutin’s in the process. She had no time to run back for it. She left it sitting in the middle of the isle way. Brad went to go pick it up, but realized that he never got her number, let alone her name. There was nothing he could do. But then he realized that she told him she lived on the same floor as the avid party thrower, her aunt. While backstage with Callie, Cindy realized that she would probably never see Brad again, or at least when she looked that nice. She was a little upset, but she realized it would never work between them. While she was backstage, Brad decided to stop in to Cindy’s aunt’s party. When he went up he figured that he would drop off Cindy’s shoe at her apartment. But when he got to the floor he realized that her aunt’s apartment was the only one on that floor. Thinking that she mistakenly gave him the wrong floor, he walked into the party with her shoe in hand. Instantly Cindy’s aunt saw the shoe and she knew it was the exact one she let Cindy borrow. This made her very curious. She inquired about the shoe and he said that it was a girl he met on the cab ride over. She insisted that it was her shoe and that her niece borrowed it. This is when the truth came out. She showed him the shoebox with the receipt and he couldn’t believe it. The girl he was so attracted to was the girl he saw at every single one of her parties. He had no idea at all, he was shocked. Soon after the revelation, Cindy walked in not even considering that he would be there. She had to explain the whole situation to him. Even though she lied to him, Brad thought she was a genuine girl. He decided to ask her on a date to one of his family’s parties. This called for a dress from her fairy godmother Callie. Their date went extremely well. She felt more at home at his house than she ever did at her aunts. They would eventually get married in the heart of New York City, and live happily ever after.
