We propose that in an ES environment of easy information access, competitive success depends, in part, on the policies regulating enterprise information use. To explore this proposition, we examine the efficient use of different types of enterprise information in the realization of strategic performance. Efficient firms will devote fewer resources to information use to achieve the same strategic performance as less efficient firms. We employ data envelopment analysis (DEA) using data collected from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system adopters at two different points...

...144 CHAPTER 6 NOVEL DESIGN OF ALU 6.1 INTRODUCTION The computation unit is the main unit of any technology, which performs different arithmetic operations like as addition, subtraction and multiplication etc. and logical operations like AND, OR, invert, XOR etc. which is a dominant feature in the digital domain based applications. The arithmetic and logic unit (ALU) perform all the arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and logic operations. Logic operations test various conditions encountered during processing and they allow different actions to be taken based on the results. The data required to perform the arithmetic and logical functions are the inputs from the designated CPU registers and operands. The ALU relies on basic items to perform its operations. The ALU is called as the heart of microprocessors, microcontrollers and CPUs because no technology can exist without those operations performed by ALU. 6.2 ARITHMETIC LOGIC UNIT An Arithmetic Logic Unit is a digital circuit that performs arithmetic and logical operations. The ALU is a fundamental building block of the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer and even the simplest microprocessors contain one for purposes such as maintaining timers. The processors were found inside modern CPUs and graphics 145 processing units (GPUs) that accommodate very powerful and very complex ALUs. A single component may contain a number of ALUs. ...Annals of Internal Medicine Clinical Guidelines Screening Mammography in Women 40 to 49 Years of Age: A Systematic Review for the American College of Physicians Katrina Armstrong, MD, MSCE; Elizabeth Moye, BA; Sankey Williams, MD; Jesse A. Berlin, ScD; and Eileen E. Reynolds, MD Background: The risks and benefits of mammography screening among women 40 to 49 years of age remain an important issue for clinical practice. Purpose: To evaluate the evidence about the risks and benefits of mammography screening for women 40 to 49 years of age. Data Sources: English-language publications in MEDLINE (1966 – 2005), Pre-MEDLINE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and references of selected studies through May 2005. Study Selection: Previous systematic reviews; randomized, controlled trials; and observational studies. Data Extraction: Two independent reviewers. Data Synthesis: In addition to publications from the original mammography trials, 117 studies were included in the review. Metaanalyses of randomized, controlled trials demonstrate a 7% to 23% reduction in breast cancer mortality rates with screening mammography in women 40 to 49 years of age. Screening mammography is associated with an increased risk for mastectomy but a decreased risk for adjuvant chemotherapy and hormone therapy. The risk for death due to breast cancer from the radiation exposure involved in mammography screening is small and is outweighed by a reduction in breast cancer mortality...

Pricing

...b s t r a c t This article reports the results of a study that explores the pricing problems with regard to two complementary products in a supply chain with two manufacturers and one common retailer. The authors establish five pricing models under decentralized decision cases, including the MS-Bertrand, MS-Stackelberg, RS-Bertrand, RS-Stackelberg, and NG models, with consideration of different market power structures among channel members.
