The goals of green computing are reduce the use of hazardous materials, maximize energy efficiency during the product's lifetime, and promote the recyclability or biodegradability of defunct products and factory waste. 2. RAM- temporary and volatile and ROM nonvolatile and permanent storage for data. 3. RFID is technology employs a microchip with an antenna to broadcast its unique identifier and location to receivers. A Retail store may place a microchip on retail items and install in-store readers that track the inventory on the shelves to determine when shelves should be restocked. 4. Control unit-access program instructions, decodes them, and coordinates the flow of data in and out of the arithmetic Logic unit registers, primary storage, and even secondary and various output devices. Arithmetic and logic unit- performs mathematical calculations and makes logical comparisons. 5. Solid state storage technology stores data in memory chips rather than magnetic or optical media. It offers less power, provides faster data access than magnetic data-storage devices, and is less fragile than flash drives. 6. Handheld computers provide ease of portability because of their small size. Smartphone combines the functionality of a mobile phone, camera, web browser, email tool, MP3 player and other devices into a single handheld device. Laptop computer is a personal computer designed for use by mobile users. It is small and light enough to sit on a user’s lap. Notebook computer is an extremely lightweight computer that weighs less than seven pounds and can easily fit in a briefcase. Netbook computers are the smallest, lightest, and least expensive members of the laptop computer family. Tablet computer are portable, lightweight computers with no keyboard that allow you to roam the office, home, or factory floor carrying the device like a clipboard. 7. Application of Bootstrap Method in Spectrometric Data Analysis

...Application of Bootstrap method in spectrometric data analysis By XIAO Jiali, Jenny ( 0830300038) A Final Year Project thesis (STAT 4121; 3 Credits) submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Statistics at BNU-HKBU UNITED INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE December, 2011 DECLARATION I hereby declare that all the work done in this Project is of my independent effort. I also certify that I have never submitted the idea and product of this Project for academic or employment credits. XIAO Jiali, Jenny (0830300038) Date: ii Application of Bootstrap method in spectrometric data analysis XIAO Jiali, Jenny Science and Technology Division Abstract In this project the bootstrap methodology for spectrometric data is considered. The bootstrap can also compare two populations, without the normality condition and without the restriction to comparison of means. The most important new idea is that bootstrap resampling must mimic the separate samples design that produced the original data. Bootstrap in mean, bootstrap in median, and bootstrap in confidence interval are three kinds of effective way to handle mass spectrometric data. Then,we need to reduce dimension based on bootstrap method. It may allow the data to be more easily visualized. Afterwards, using results obtained by bootstrap, we use data mining method to predict a patient has ovarian cancer or not. Decision tree induction and neural network are usual way to...

Standard

...Chapter 4: Feasibility of Proposed Standards CHAPTER 4: Feasibility of Proposed Standards Section 213(a)(3) of the Clean Air Act presents statutory criteria that EPA must evaluate in determining standards for nonroad engines and vehicles. The standards must "achieve the greatest degree of emission reduction achievable through the application of technology which the Administrator determines will be available for the engines or vehicles to which such standards apply, giving appropriate consideration to the cost of applying such technology within the period of time available to manufacturers and to noise, energy, and safety factors associated with the application of such technology." This chapter presents the technical analyses and information that form the basis of EPA's belief that the proposed emission standards are technically achievable accounting for all the above factors. 4.1 CI Recreational Marine The proposed emission standards CI recreational marine engines are summarized in the Executive Summary. We believe that manufacturers will be able to meet these standards using technology similar to that required for the commercial marine engine standards. This section discusses technology currently used on CI recreational marine engines and anticipated technology to meet the proposed standards. In addition, this section discusses the emission test procedures and not-to-exceed requirements. 4.1.1 Baseline Technology for CI Recreational Marine Engines We developed estimates...

...P10 CIS 230 Chapter 10 Computer Peripherals Fall 2013 __________________________ are devices that are external to the main processing function of the computer itself. They are external to the CPU. They do not include the CPU, memory and power supply. T/F. The peripherals in a mainframe computer are similar, except larger, with more capacity. They may be 100 keyboards and terminals and a hard drive array. T/F. Computer storage is often conceptualized hierarchically, based upon the speed with which data can be accessed. In the hierarchy of storage, access to CPU __________________________ is essentially instantaneous, since they are actually a part of the CPU. In the hierarchy of storage, __________________________ is the fastest memory outside the CPU. __________________________ is a small amount of fast memory that is used to hold current data and instructions. __________________________ storage refers to both types of RAM, DRAM and SRAM. T/F. Both DRAM and SRAM provide immediate access to program instructions and data by the CPU and can be used for the execution of instructions. __________________________ storage refers to hard drives, thumb drives, CD-ROMs/DVDs and magnetic tape. T/F. Data and programs in secondary storage must be copied to primary storage (memory) for CPU access. T/F. Most secondary devices are mechanical in nature and are therefore slower than primary memory. The only exception is flash memory. ...
