In America, we have become a country divided not only by political alliances, but also by personal preferences. There is something dangerous about saying the words Donald Trump, abortion, marijuana or LGBT rights. Now this is inevitable in any country or really in any time frame. The fact is, civil disobediance is not only positive in a free society, but neccessary. In addition, the idea of restricting civil disobedience is near to fascism. The ideology that the people not be allowed to peacefully protest or disobey certain sets of rules put in place is too restrictive in a country claiming to be the land of the free. I am not saying that people should rampantly roam the streets and outwardly break the law, even in a civil manner. I simply mean that a free society should not be one that does not allow its people to use the freedom of speech that they were rightfully given by their founding fathers. This is essentially important in a time that blatantly biased leaders are in power. The most dangerous part about a leader can be the level of their extremism.This can cause a major divide in any country, province, or territory, which is what we are currently seeing in the United States. It does not negatively affect a free society if free people are using what they are given by the constitution. There is really no way to say that civil disobediance can harm a free society because a free society cannot exist without civil disobedience. People should not be afraid to express their opinions and fight for their rights. A truly free Society will appreciate it. But this does not work in every case.
