Current Club IT
Club IT was founded by two college graduates, Ruben and Lisa, who had played live music in several clubs throughout their college years. Armed with their Business Administration degrees and their own experiences playing in nightclubs, Ruben and Lisa decided to open up their own nightclub. That is how Club IT was born. They wanted to offer the best music, a great atmosphere, and an enjoyable experience to all of their customers. According to "About Club IT"(n.d.), "We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT."(para. 4).
Club IT offers a user-friendly website that can be browsed by current and potential customers. It offers a variety of information about the establishment. Included information is: About Club IT, Club IT Music, Dining & Menus, Merchandise, Club IT Staff, Club Layout, and an Employee Portal. This information allows customers to know what type of music is being played on what dates, what food and drinks are available, buy Club IT branded merchandise, know who is serving them, and what the floor plan is of Club IT. The Employee Portal offers a variety of information that is accessible to employees using their own personal user name and password. Under the Employee Portal, employees can see all of their own personal information, wage, bonus, vacation time, and sick time information, and also download forms and manuals related to their job at Club IT. From this part of the company's website, employees can also access information on ordering, sales, and the business's budget. There is also an employee directory available and a tab for upcoming employee events.
All of this information is essential to draw in customers, keep them coming back to Club IT, make customers feel informed and comfortable, and keep the staff informed of everything that is going on at the business. Information is available about almost every aspect of the business with just a few clicks. The staff, especially, can utilize the information they have available to them in order to best serve their customers. If certain drinks or types of food are consistently topping the sales chart, those types of drinks and foods should be promoted to further increase sales as long as those items are also profitable for the company. At the same time, if specific menu items offer very little in sales, maybe those items could be reviewed, changed, or removed from the menu altogether. The information that is available to the staff can help them to continuously offer the best products and most desired products to their customers.
From a customer perspective, Club IT seems to be welcoming because of all of the information they present on their website. Customers can click through the tabs and get a great deal of useful information about the club. Potential customers will not have to be quite as uneasy about trying out a new establishment because they will already have a good idea of how the seating is arranged and what menu items are available. This offers a jump start to creating an enjoyable customer experience. Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems is defined as "software that integrates the planning, management, and use of all resources in the entire enterprise."(Rainer and Turban, 2009). With all of the information that the Club IT website offers to employees about sales, ordering, costs, and budget, resource planning is made much easier. The management and employees can see where they need to focus their time and energy for the business to be successful. Even if someone is out of work, anyone else can look up the information needed to perform their orders and prepare for what their department faces on a normal day. Having all of this information so readily available should be an enormous help to the business and employees for ordering and scheduling duties. The systems are integrated in the fact that the sales, costs, and budget can all be seen in one place. Employees can see what is costing the company money and what is making the company money. It is an all-around balanced system full of information.
