...Securing and Protecting Information CMGT 400 April 8, 2013 Securing and Protecting Information Authentication With the advances in technology, authentication has become part of our everyday lives, whether scanning your badge at work, signing for a credit card purchase, or logging into your Facebook/Twitter accounts. Authentication is the act of validating your identity while requesting access to software, purchases, or entry to a secured facility. There are four types of authentication; something you know, something you have, something you are, and something you can produce. When a service requests two or more types of authentication, it is called strong authentication, such as inserting an identification card and providing a password to access a computer workstation. “Something you know” refers to the use of passwords, passphrases, and codes or PINs. When creating a password, the user must make the decision to create a string of alphanumeric and special characters with differing cases. The longer and more complicated a password the user creates drastically reduces the risk of cracking or brute force attacks. The same password must also be something easily remembered by the user to dissuade it from being written down and stored onsite or left at the workstation. A solution to this is creating a passphrase, a common phrase or date abbreviated and linked together with special characters to create a personal passphrase difficult to crack but easy to remember. An example...

...CMGT/410 May 16, 2013 Purpose This proposal is for the off-site training session set to begin later this year for Center Stage Dance Company. This document discusses the financial implications of the project and how these implications were estimated. Relevant facts, resources, critical task sequencing, and the project’s milestone will also be summarized in this proposal. Estimated Cost Summary Hardware will need to be provided for this training. This includes one projector screen and workstations for those that do not have a company laptop. These workstations will be rented and not purchased since each studio already has hardware that will use the new web based software. An estimated cost for the hardware rental is $1,500. This estimate was provided by quotes obtained from Corporate Audio Visual’s website, http://www.corpav.net/. The training will require 1 trainer for each software program. Since this training session will include the new CRM software and financing/accounting software, the session will require 2 trainers. Instructor costs are estimated at $1,543. This estimation is based on the hourly wage reported by the "Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor" (2012) website. Instructional materials will need to be provided in a hard copy and is estimated to be $250. Travel accommodations will need to be included since most of the participants will be arriving from out of state. An estimated cost of 5,500 includes airfare, hotel, transportation, and...

...Patton-Fuller Community Hospital Networking Project (Week 3) University of Phoenix CMGT 554/IT INFRASTRUCTURE Patton-Fuller Community Hospital Networking Project Today most new building construction is built with new technology and is not as much concerned with the type of budgets that a hospital muse consider in order to redesign a whole new network structure for the purpose of being more optimal and maintaining standards that keep up with advances in new technology. In most cases, a hospital’s network can transition over time with new technology and evolve into meeting the demands it requires to perform effectively. However, upgrading a hospital’s entire network can often be very expensive to implement and sustain. There may be a case where components or parts are no longer being produced to meet current and future demands. In the last several years, changes in healthcare put a demand on hospitals to maintain their networks with new, more efficient solutions that can enhance performance, keep cost low, but most one that is reliable . The Network architecture at Patton-Fuller hospital was designed for each department to rely on information flow between each department. In other words, if the accounting department needed information from the pharmacy or admissions in order to create invoices or insurance billing, it would be rely on those departments to share real time information through the network. It is important for a facility as large as a hospital to have...

...Jay Grand Productions, Inc Brieana Yates CMGT/554 November 9, 2015 LARRY SCHREIDER This project plan for Jay Grand Productions Inc. is a 3 year plan which is to begin December 2015 and has a projected end date of December 2018. This document will outline the improvements to the current information technology throughout the organization. The need for information, knowledge and collaboration sharing has become very important to the success of this business. Clients, collaborators, artists, and investors are interested in being able to access music files, data, email, and master recordings pertinent to their specific projects. Programs such as Final Cut, Logic Pro X, and Office 365 (Saas – Software as a Service) are three of the main technologies that we need to implement for information sharing capabilities. These programs are necessary to create music, create the coordinating video files, and communicate via email. The current system is a star topology using an Ethernet connection on a Cat5 cable. All individual nodes are connected via a wireless LAN on a centralized access point; peer-to-peer infrastructure. The current WAN system plan allows for 350 GB of data with 50 Mbps down and 5 Mbps upload speeds. My recommendation is to increase the amount of data to 700 GB with 100 down and 10 upload speeds. I am also making the recommendation to hire additional IT personnel to assist in implementation, maintenance, ongoing support, and operational needs. It is also my recommendation...

...Patton-Fuller Community Hospital Networking Project Week 3 Individual Week 3 individual Week 3 Individual This paper will show an analysis of the Patton-Fuller Community Hospital network system. Based on the findings I will define what may be missing from the current network architecture. In addition I will identify the wireless technology in use, and how it enhances the hospital network. Looking at the Patton-Fuller Community Hospital intranet Web site it shows seven separate network diagrams. In these seven diagrams there are a Top View, logical, administrative, radiology, and radiology information system data center, information technology data center, and includes the ward floors, the operating room and the intensive care unit. In each section there is a complete detailed description of the network diagrams. Starting with the top view diagram representing the hospital structure from an Information Technology network perspective there are two segments of the network which are the clinical functions and the administrative functions. In the clinical areas include the emergency room and operating room, pharmacy, the labs, radiology, intensive care units, the doctor’s personal offices, and the wards. In the administrative areas are the information technology department, admitting and discharge, human resource, finance, the hospital senior management, and the facilities. The backbone network structure for the entire hospital is 1000 BaseT. According to "1000base-T...
