...Memorandum TO: Bell Media Ethics Committee FROM: Xiao Feng Huang (Charles) DATE: Wednesday June 6, 2012 SUBJECT: Media Ethnics Policies Recommendation This memorandum examines three ethnical problems and possible solutions regarding gathering and presenting “news”, defined in a report of recent events or information. The objective of any media organization is to provide the public with news reports that “seek and report the truth, encourage civic debate to build our communities, and serve the public interest.”i stated in principle by the Canadian Association of Journalists. We will address three ethnical issues brought to our attention related to editorial bias, anonymous sources and attribution, and respect for the right of privacy. Furthermore, we will examine one of three ethical paths presented in today’s journalism. They “defend freedom of expression and freedom of the press”ii The three ethical paths include amoral, which can be defined as not questioning what is right or wrong or inserting moral standard in the reporting. Secondly, immoral involves the violation of journalistic code of conduct or principles. Lastly, moral concerns conforming to the rules, norms and acceptable journalistic codes of conduct, which will be our main focus. In this context, morality includes the ethical responsibilities such as not abusing its press freedom, avoiding unnecessary harm to any subjects, being truthful...

However, before starting the solution a brief description of the model will be illustrated as follow: Transportation Problem Many practical problems in operations research can be broadly formulated as linear programming problems, for which the simplex this is a general method and cannot be used for specific types of problems like, (i) transportation models, (ii) transshipment models and (iii) the assignment models. The above models are also basically allocation models. We can adopt the simplex technique to solve them, but easier...

...Motivation in Work Place University of South Carolina Aiken In this assignment, we will discuss motivation as a concept, as a behavior and as a management tool. I have herein brought in all the important concepts that are associated with motivation, given its prime role in life. Also, I have taken a case study related to a bank, and examined how the HRD has identified, and evolved a plan to increase motivational assets. Motivation is a practice of extracting, controlling and sustaining certain behavior. There are many approaches to motivation - physiological, behavioral, cognitive, and social. Motivation is usually a group effect, but not limited to it; it affects the behavior of individuals on different levels, and as a result, the product in any workplace can directly be correlated to the motivational levels or on practical terms, the spirit of the work force. Motivation plays a vital role in setting and attaining goals, and the factor of motivation is intertwined with certain philosophical and psychological concepts - altruism, selfishness, morality, or avoiding mortality. Work place motivation can either intrinsic or extrinsic; intrinsic motivation refers to the drive or thirst due to the interest in the work, and this kind of motivation exists within the individual, not forced by any external pressure. Psychologists see intrinsic motivation as more effective than extrinsic because it helps...

Access to Information Review Task Force. (2002, June). Access to Information: Making it Work for Canadians. Page 2 Policy document Research and Analysis Canada. Access to Information Review Task Force. Overview: The decision to implement an Access to Information Act (ATIA) in Canada was a process initiated in the early 1970s and only in 1982 was a workable law established in this country. Through many years, the preliminary actions were taken by a few and only after the government officially decided to develop the law, was a real concerted effort expended on the Access To Information Act (ATIA). Heralded as an example to be followed, it has been many years since the law was amended to keep up with the times of the changing face of information access. As a result the Canadian act has languished for many years with a constant whittling away at the right to access culminating with the current outcry that the law must be made more workable. This is a brief search of the actions that have been taken and their results. Historical aspects of Access to Information in Canada: The existing Access to Information Act (ATIA) as passed by the Federal Parliament in 1982, and was enacted in1983 after years of attempts...
