This recipe structure is both unique and similar. The video begins by introducing the coffee company that creates this specific brew, Barismo Coffee, found in Arlington, Massachusetts. The first minute of the video describes the coffee shop, and advertises Hario coffee products. After approximately 45 seconds, the video begins to list the ingredients and machines needed to create the coffee. Once this is listed, it demonstrates the proper way to create a pour over brew. These instructions go into extreme detail, even explaining the chemistry behind the reactions of the coffee. The structure is informational, but spends a lot of time trying to promote their products, making it seem more like a Billy Mays infomercial than a recipe.

They advertise their coffee brand, but only specify that the coffee beans should only be two weeks old, or else the coffee will not be fresh. The recipe says that there should be 2-5 grams per ounce of coffee, but does not give any other measurements. Actually, they say several times that the recipe depends on how much coffee the person is making, what type of coffee is being used, and the dosage of coffee. In other words, it is up to the cook. Although it gives an average time, this is impractical for most people, because they do not know when to stop pouring, causing the coffee to be watered down. However, the rest of the recipe is very detailed, giving exact times for the pre-infusion step, and noting which shapes that the water should be poured in. The text on our sheet mentions that this recipe is only meant for black coffee. If a person wants to add milk and sugar, there is a different procedure. Normal people can use this recipe, but they must likely will not. The recipe is over complicating something that most people view as simple.
