Financial Planning

...Sample Essay on Financial Planning It is vitally important for the individual to set up a personal financial plan in order not to experience hardships and financial difficulties in the future. Financial plan assure financial stability and financial freedom that one wants to possess till the end of his/her life. The following essay will speak about the role of the financial planning for the retirement years and will state that people without financial plans face substantial pain/suffering/unhappiness in their retirement years. The process of developing a sound financial plan is a routine process that indeed involves not only careful financial analysis of the person’s current situation and long-term commitment to implement and monitor that plan throughout his/her life, but also requires careful thinking for the future. In order to properly achieve the financial planning goals, one has to monitor the performance of the financial plan as well as make proper changes when necessary. Thus, in order for the plan to remain of use for the person and not a fortune for financial advisors, one has to make it user-friendly and elaborate. For example an article How to manage your money, noted that one is not able to compete well without the resources and thus has to read a lot about the market (Macklem, Katherine, 2004). One should weigh all the pros and cons of mutual funds namely, criteria for selecting stocks, the fund managers, and track record. Katherine Maclem (2004) states...

Marketing

...Assignment 1 Market Analysis Nearly $35 billion are spent every year on weddings and receptions. Therefore, professional wedding consultants are a commodity, not a calamity. Signature Wedding Consultants are full-service wedding consultants that offer a variety of services to our clients. We pride ourselves on being professional and courteous at all times and we have packages to suit everyone's needs. As previously stated, marriage is a billion dollar industry, therefore, just about everyone we meet is a potential client. However, we mostly advertise to brides, grooms, and family members. Market Segmentation Although the flash and excitement of impending nuptials can be intoxicating, it can also be overwhelming. Therefore, we primarily market our services to the people who need them most--brides and grooms. In 1997, 2.4 million marriages took place in the United States. According to the Encarta Encyclopedia, the current US marriage rate of nine marriages per 1,000 people is still the highest rate among the industrialized countries. This marriage rate is expected to remain at the same level in the near future. In the Savannah, GA area where Signature Wedding Consultants plans to operate their business, over 1,500 marriages are registered each year, which creates a sizable market potential for this line of business. Another customer segment is represented by the numerous family members and guests attending weddings, anniversaries, and similar events. This segment requires event preparation...

Should College Students Be Allowed to Get Married

...Should College Students Be Allowed To Get Married I remember it clearly that six or seven years ago, there was a fierce debate on the controversial topic of whether college students are allowed to get married during their college years. It was to a great extent the result of a front-page affair depicting two excellent college students who got married and soon divorced from each other. Generally, there are two standpoints on this issue. Some are assentient towards it. For this part of people, they firmly claim that no one has the right to restrain the students in building up their own families as long as they reach the legal age[1]. Others holding the opposite opinion, take me as an example, strongly sustain that colleges carry out prohibitions on the marriage of students. I am an opponent as what I mentioned above. Genuinely, enjoying the sweet of love is no ground for blame, but it’s not a wise idea for students who are not economy-independent to shoulder the responsibility of marriage, for the demerits of the consequences are supposed to weigh more than merits. First of all, college is mostly a place for students to pursuit knowledge. That is to say, the leading mission of students is keeping on deriving episteme and accumulating experience for future career. So if we got married during college years, it will inevitably have enormous negative influence on our study. As a result, the academic atmosphere of the whole campus will be affected as well. ...

The Importance Of Marriage

...Most women dream of their big day, a day full of festivities, high-class venues, beautiful white dresses and delicious food. Today, less and less are following through on the fantasy of a perfect wedding day. In recent years several factors have contributed to the decline of a traditional wedding that will lead to a traditional marriage. Most are avoiding marriage and just living together or having children out of wedlock. Marriage is an outdated practice because people cannot afford to have a wedding, cannot commit to a relationship, and cannot abide by old traditions. To begin with, most argue that money does not play a factor in true love, however, given that the people today cannot afford to have a wedding, the economy, cost, and wage...

...diplomat or a capo. Seeing the initials of national origin on our small Morris convertible, he addressed us in English. I held in my hand our confusing travel directions. We asked the man if Zagreb was straight ahead. He shrugged, and told us, “There is only one road in Yugoslavia.” It was not long after our wedding. When I finished my initial year at Oxford, I flew home to marry Kirby, who had been my girlfriend in college. We had met on a blind date. When my college roommate asked his fiancée to fix me up, she asked, “How tall is he?” Kirby was pretty, intelligent, classy, and six foot one. I was only an inch taller, and found her height exotic. We had a good time together, sophomore and senior, and dated again … and again … and again. One thing led to another. That year I spent in England, we missed each other. We wrote letters back and forth, and by mail arranged to get married. From London I flew to New York, 17 hours on a Lockheed Constellation with its triple tail. Our reunion was happy and frantic with preparation. After the September ceremony we had no time for a honeymoon, but took immediate passage to Southampton on the Queen Elizabeth. As a wedding present, my grandfather Hall had ordered us an English automobile, a tiny green Morris Minor that we were to pick up in London, and after Oxford ship back to the United States. From the dealer’s, we headed out into heavy traffic. Driving on the left-hand...

Summer Camp Entrepreneur

...The first wedding that I planned was in no way a traditional wedding. Ten eager little girls decorated the printed invitations with sequins, buttons, and markers. The same energetic hands prepared the wedding feast, consisting of bagged lunches, blintz souffle, and of course a layer cake. On the big day I looked around with excitement. Again, I noticed something odd about this wedding. All the participants and guests appeared about four feet high. The "groom" had long hair pinned up with brown lines on her face (was that supposed to be a beard?) The wedding location, a back yard with a swing set and a wading pool, seemed far from romantic. This wedding however was not supposed to be one of those types of weddings. As I pressed the "PLAY" button on the tape recorder I knew that ten 4-6-year-old girls cared deeply about this wedding. Despite the absence of a reason for celebration, I pulled all the girls into the circle and we started dancing and clapping to the music. The energy that went into the preparation on previous days could finally be appreciated. My campers and I not only celebrated the accomplishment of the mock wedding, we celebrated the fun and excitement we experienced for the first three weeks in Camp Glitter Girls. I had begun preparing for Camp Glitter Girls over four months before by budgeting, sending out fliers, confirming registration and finally making sure that every camper would have the time of her life. As I danced, I celebrated the times I almost lost...

Statistics Current Event

...Current Event Article BUSN 576 September 29, 2012 The article I selected was regarding marriage rates among the poor and the fact that they have declined since the 1960s. It discussed if other incentives and alternatives decisions were made and then more couples marry would this reduce poverty. According to research at Johns Hopkins University only 70-75% of African American women expects to get married whereas 91% of Caucasian women in a lifetime. The most cited reason for delaying marriage by women is that it is not affordable which leads to declining of marriage and increase in poverty. According to George Mason University most couples come out ahead after marriage simply by cutting the total house expense such as one home, one insurance, one grocery list all because it is a combined effort and the couple’s income naturally increases. Education, experience, and sometime race account hugely when it comes to earnings. Basically, it is said that married men earn 40% more than single but on the other hand married women can earn approximately 10% less than a single women. Hence the reason why the marriage rates dwindle among the poor simply because of not having the ability to reach the high standards of quality living, financial stability and simply going by what is to be expected be in place for a single person’s life prior to marriage. According to the Center for Research on Child Well-Being at Princeton University a Fragile Families Survey indicated unmarried...
