I’ve always loved the concept of stepping into a character’s shoes and I find myself mesmerized by the emotions that a playwright can evoke from audiences. One of the most crucial moments of my life came from acting in the play columbinus. Based of the Columbine High School shootings, columbinus explored certain issues revolving around adolescence including bullying, depression, and identity struggle. What affected me deeply about acting in this show was the impact it had on the community of my high school, Brooks School. The play made people more sensitive to these issues, and succeeded in bringing together a community in a way I had never imagined.
