Climate Cylcles Inexplicable weather changes, devastating tsunamis, earthquakes in unusual places, seasons seemingly being skipped or prolonged, floods amongst several other abnormalities in the way the world we know have been occurring more frequently, more powerfully and more frighteningly. As humans, naturally we question, fear and seek to explain all of these deadly and destructive anomalies. Some claim an apocalypse is coming, some say we are heading toward an ice age, some believe we have accelerated a change in the Earth’s climate cycles by our own actions. Any view taken, is one of fear and trepidation. As a factual and unbiased paper, we will not take the Apocalypse theory into account for the fact that there are concrete facts or evidence. Regardless of why we believe something is wrong or changing, it is undeniably fact that the world is changing on many levels. The purpose of this paper is explore and attempt to find the reasons why this is happening, and what we, as mankind, can do to be prepared, and to attempt to mitigate any effect we may have on the acceleration of these changes
Pollution and human consumption of fossil fuels, trees and other natural resources have been the scapegoat for “global warming” for several years now. How is it that, specifically, carbon emissions from vehicles allegedly has caused or sped the rate of global warming? Carbon emissions have been in existence since fossil fueled engines have been around, which is roughly between 150 and 200 years at this point. How could something happening in such a very short part of a climate cycle possibly have an effect on how rapidly or slowly the cycle may be changing?

...Assignment Week 1- 9/26/11 Aziza Gary Com/156 Instructor -Carrie O’Connell When I think about the challenges I will face writing a paper a lot of different factors come to mind. Writing a college paper or any type of writing has never been a strong point for me. Here are a few challenges I will face in the next 9 weeks. One serious challenge is procrastination. I recently learned that people will be slow to complete things, they truly don’t enjoy doing. English has never been my favorite subject and my writing skills, to me leaves much to be desired. This negative thinking, which is challenge number two for me does not provide me with a great learning environment. The last challenge for me would be trying to exceed my own expectations. I strive to be the best at everything that I do. As for back as I can remember English and Math have always been very tough for me. If I don’t envision a great paper there won’t be one. Let me present my challenges; procrastination, negative thinking, and over achievement. I know that only one of these items was cover this week in our studies, but this was my honest answer. When I re-read my top paragraph I realized that sometimes I can be my own worst critic. Getting my education is extremely important to me. In order to achieve my goals I must face my fears of writing. By giving myself time to study and research my topic I am sure to find something interesting to write about. I have to stay positive and interacting with...

...Abortion Should Be Legal Troi Kpan COM/156 University Composition and Communication II Sheila Rogers December 9, 2013 Part Two Week Eight Assignment According to the instructor feedback from week six, my thesis statement was a run on sentence. I have revised my thesis statement so that it is no longer a run on sentence. Unfortunately I do not have any other feedback from my instructor due to I made a mistake when submitting my week seven assignment and did not ensure the corrected paper was attached to the part that was submitted for grading. According to the Write point feedback there were many areas that I need to make corrections. First the CWE stated I should revise my title to avoid rhetorical questions. I revised my title to a statement instead of a question. Second the CWE noted not to leave spaces around a slash mark on my cover sheet. I corrected the title page and removed the spaces around the slash mark. Third the CWE noted the doctoral rule if not a noun the word “Being” is hard to imagine and I should rewrite or remove the word. I did remove the word being and revised the sentence. Forth the CWE noted to not write out numbers higher than 9 when writing. I corrected all numbers higher than 9. Fifth the CWE noted I should check my word usage. I revised all areas that CWE noted needed a change for wording. A couple other items that were noted by the CWE was I used the term “ in the year 1973” and it suggested this was superfluous....

Dipboye and Amanda Peek Phillips Rice University Many college students may find the academic experience very stressful (Swick, 1987). One potential coping strategy frequently offered by university counseling services is time management. One hundred and sixty-five students completed a questionnaire assessing their time management behaviors and attitudes, stress, and self-perceptions of performance and grade point average. The study revealed 2 major findings. The Time Management Behavior Scale consists of 4 relatively independent factors; the most predictive was Perceived Control of Time. Students who perceived control of their time reported significantly greater evaluations of their performance, greaterwork and life satisfaction, less role ambiguity, less role overload, and fewer job-induced and somatic tensions. Findings are consistent with theory and advice on time management (e.g., Schuler, 1979) but also indicate that the dynamics of time management are more complex than previously believed.
