...Developing Effective Communication in Health and Social Care In this assignment I am going to explain the role of effective communication and interactions used, relating all work back to a health and social care environment. I am then going to explain the different concepts of communication and explain Tuckman’s and Argyles’ theories of group interaction and communication. Finally, I am going to discuss the role of effective communication and interpersonal interactions and explain how these may impact on the health and social care services provided. ‘A speaker transmits a message and must ensure that the message is delivered clearly. A listener takes delivery of the message and must be an active listener. Effective communication takes place only when the listener clearly understands the message that the speaker intended to send’ (www.icre.pitt.edu). One-to-one communication plays a very important role in most people’s lives. This type of communication is most often used face to face but can be used via texts, emails and telephone calls. This type of interaction often involves a three-stage process; greeting/warm-up, conversation/information exchange and farewells/winding down. In the greeting stage it is important to create a positive emotional atmosphere, most people usually say ‘Hello’ or ‘Good morning’. Once a positive, friendly atmosphere is achieved, you can continue to the conversation exchange. Here, the information or subject you want to talk about is exchanged. The...

...Communication and Information Technology Paper HSC/ 320 July 19, 2011 The electronic medical records are medical records that are computerized for the use of hospital or office of physicians. The system allows storage, modification and retrieval of patients’ records. This is efficient because it eliminates the records being paper based and doctors can record data at the moment they are talking to the patient. The effectiveness of electronic medical record errors is less likely to happen because everything will be electronic. By law health care providers are to have patients’ records for seven years. When a provider has to look up information on patients’ history al there information well be in one place, instead all over the place with paper based records. The electronic medical records are becoming more common means of recording information of patients. It has not been easy from transition of paper charting to the use of electronic medical records. ...M1 - In this report, I will be further discussing use of the range of ICT, focusing more so on how and why other electronic systems and software are used in different contexts across both health and social care sectors. There are a range of technologies used in HSC and I will assess the impact and/or important of each. A hardware which is used across all health and social care sectors is the computer; this is the most used hardware in all HSC settings since it enables access to a variety of software. In a in a hospital, for example, a computer is extremely important since it handles medical data and has all records stored onto software on the computer. Without having computers in a hospital, medical bills, prescriptions, medication, details of patients and so on, would have to be written down on paper which takes up an enormous amount of time, and if lost, this means it would result in major problems since there is no extra copy. Therefore, the use of computers are very useful in hospitals because data can be backed up if lost or data can be even printed out which saves time and enables hospitals to run more smoothly. Software, such as Electronic...

In this government sponsored education system the “HSC” level in the title is located immediately after the secondary level consisting of 11 and 12. After the completion of two years of study at this level, the students sit for the HSC examination which is the second public examination they face in the life. When HSC level is considered, English is taught here as a compulsory subject consisting of two papers each carrying one hundred marks To face the challenges of new century, the English textbook of class XI-XII has been rationally evaluated by foreign consultants and local experts. The evaluated and modified textbook was designed for introducing communicative techniques and for providing adequate practice in language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. ...quality of care" (CAIPE, 2002). CAIPE uses the term "Interprofessional education" (IPE) to include all such learning in academic and work based settings before and after qualification, adopting an inclusive view of "professional".
