When holding a meeting and speaking in front of a diverse group of people such as stake holders, managers, salespeople as well as your customers it is very important that I have an agenda to follow. I would make certain that one point flows smoothly into the next area so not to confuse the message that I am giving. When speaking to an audience many factors must be taken into consideration. The first few questions that come to mind are fairly common, What kind of meeting will it be? Who will be in attendance at the meeting? When will the meeting take place and where will it be held?] These are common questions but to handle the situation adequately, and make it a success, there are many deeper issues to consider and address. These include audience reaction, the amount of information needed, obstacles or barriers that I may encounter, areas that need to be emphasis, audience expectations, and how the audience will use of the information. This paper explains characteristics of the audience to consider, appropriate communication channels, items to consider regarding audience diversity, and how to make sure the message is effective. In the scenario given I have to place myself in a role where I will be giving a quarterly sales presentation at an in-person meeting to a group of stakeholders. Therefore, the use of I, me, we, and my will be prevalent in this paper
What characteristics of the audience must you consider?
It is important in having appropriate props to ensure that your message is being understood by your audience. People are auditory or visual learners or both .
