Performance monitoring can be used to evaluate the performance of an offender who is out of custody on parole. Needs assessments can be used to evaluate how the corrective needs of the offender are being met, while they are under probation. Impact evaluation can be used in both scenarios, to investigate the effectiveness of either the probation or parole on changing how the offender behaves (Walters et al., 2007). In evaluation probation and parole and its impact on restoring the behavior of the offender to acceptable community standards, formative evaluation can be eye-opening. Taking the instance of individuals who are on probation and are given some hours of community service on a weekly basis, formative evaluation can be used at the end of the week, to evaluate how the offender is coping with the outside world, specifically looking at the behaviour of the offender while both in custody, and while in the outside world. The formative evaluation would be well suited in this case because the information collected can then be used for comparison reasons, and also, …show more content…
One idea for where summative evaluation can be used is the evaluation of the behavior of the offenders who are out on parole. Using the performance and impact evaluations, the offenders can be tracked electronically after a while to assess how they are coping in the outside world and to also assess their behavior with relation to the conditions for their release as stipulated during their parole hearings. The summative evaluation would be appropriate in such a case because it would offer the chance to test the performance of the individual and assess their commitment to

Nur/405 Health Education Plan

...a role every nurse must participate in to promote, maintain, and restore health among a community. To accomplish such requires community members receive and have a practical understanding of health-related information (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2008). One method to accomplish such is to develop a health educational plan. The purpose of this paper is to create a health education plan based upon information collected from a windshield survey and Friedman family assessment conducted by a nurse in the community of Palmdale, California. Areas that will be discussed include, a description of the educational need based upon assessment findings, educational goals and objectives, educational methods that will be used to implement the health educational plan, and the methods applied to evaluate the educator and process used in the development and implementation of the health education plan. Identification of a Health Educational Need In conducting a windshield survey and Friedman family assessment, the nurse identified multiple educational needs. The priority educational need in common and identified among both the family and the community of Palmdale, California is the need for education on the maintenance of chronic illnesses. Determining what chronic illness to focus on in terms of development of the health educational plan however, presented more of a challenge. When observing the community it was identified that multiple individuals had oxygen tanks providing evidence of chronic...

Program Planning and Evaluation Paper

...Program Planning and Evaluation Paper Holly Regan HSM/270 May 25, 2014 Fedder Williams Program Planning and Evaluation Paper In comparison, each of the two components; program planning and program evaluation are related in the way that each is a theory based and goal-oriented activity. A program is a permanent and inseparable element of the planning process intended to achieve specific future goals. The methodical, yet necessary process of planning is important in designing programs to become an effective and efficient tool for human service organizations in conjunction with a systematic approach to descriptive research for meeting each presented goal. Descriptive research is designed to service clients, describe program characteristics, and other elements. It describes the use of facilities, community resources and other resources as well. It is also designed to study the relationship of association among various factors or variables and take into account the solicited views of a social issue or problem in program or policy design/planning process. Descriptive research provides a description of an observable fact or event or the relationships between two or more observable facts or events. Assessments vary categorically, but they can assess nearly everything and to the nth degree. Social programs are no different as assessments are utilized to produce data that is crucial for programs turning negative outcomes into positive outcomes. An assessment of needs plays...
