Two Personal Accounts of Exploration and Settlement

The two selections that give the most complete picture of the historical period are Of Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford and The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equino by Olaudah Equino. William Bradford describes the hardships that were faced through the colony upon their arrival. While Olaudah Equiano tells about the atrocities that were faced by the African slaves. Both authors went through immense obstacles in order for them to view the good after the work they put in. The challenges that were faced by these two authors during the late 1500s and mid 1700s has contributed to what has shaped our colonial culture today.
