Slave narrative is considered more work as a literature. It describes the Americans history and culture. The age of slavery was a big part of history. It was one of the cruel and brutal history. Fredrick Douglass and Nat Turner are one of the names that you would find in the history of slavery. Nat Turner is known for the most famous slave revolt in United States. While on the other hand Fedrick Douglass is known for most of his achievements as a leader. Even though they both are different they have some similar features. They both worked differently, aimed different audience and also had different aims in life. First of all, lets discuss Nat Turner confession which is a public document that was written by his lawyer Thomas Ruffin Gray. He escaped from slavery, came to New York as a free man. As soon he became a free man he started to write about his life and short stories. During that time Slavery was still legal in the United States. Douglass was separated from his mother when he was born and at a very young age he was moved from one master to another as a slave until he gained freedom. He was in the possession of Colonel Lloyd. He had large plantation where slaves worked really hard and were often beaten. However, Fedrick was safe from all the hard work. As a child he worked in household. At the age of seven he received a new Master, Hugh Auld. His wife Sofia was kind with Fedrick. Even after that he was under many different masters but still managed to escape, got his freedom and also got married.
