John Updike’s A & P and Raymond Carver’s Cathedral are short stories. In John Updike’s story Sammy stood up against bad behavior of the store owner because the store embarrassed the girls because they were not wearing proper clothes. In Raymond Carver’s story the blind man is having trouble to communicate with others.
Sammy was a 19 year old young man working in a store, suddenly three girls entered into the store and they were only wearing bathing suits.
