Thomas Jefferson once said “Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.” Since Jefferson knew that actions define you he made sure to make the right choices, which made him a great leader. Jefferson made the United States better because he had good views of the structure government, his views on foreign policy's were good and because he had good views on who should run the government. Those make me believe that Thomas Jefferson made the best decisions regarding the United States government, as apposed to Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Jefferson thought that the government should be a democracy. He also believed that there should be a small government with limited powers was best to keep everyone happy. That was very important to Jefferson, keeping the people happy and he tried to make good decisions that would benefit the people. Jefferson also favored a strict interpretation of the Constitution, that the constitution meant exactly what it said, no more and no less. So if something was not in the constitution then it could not be done. He also believed that there should be laws that help to protect the people and their liberties.
Jefferson's believed that the Americans were obligated to help out France. Since the French had helped us out in a time a need. In 1803 a war between Britain and France had started. …show more content…
Jefferson’s view on the structure on the government was better for the people. His views on foreign affairs were fair and logical. Also his views on governing were the best for all the people in the US, not just the wealthy. Thomas Jefferson truly believed that the common people do not get enough say in the government and he was determined to change that and he did. Since he was able to make the United States a better place, I believe that Thomas Jefferson had a better positive outcome on the United States than Alexander

Comparing Thomas Jefferson And Alexander Hamilton

...This essay is going to compare and contrast both Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, They both had some major differences, but other things they had the same thought process. Many things were different about their beliefs with the role and nature of the newly created United States government. Hamilton mainly like the more power of the government the better it is for society. Jefferson wanted more of a smaller government and having people with individual rights. Hamilton and Jefferson were two ways different thinkers in what they want for society and believe in. Hamilton was in favor of a strong central government and a national constitution. He wasn't really a strong supporter of democracy or even the Bill of Rights. Favored implied powers, a loose construction of the constitution. He was one of many writers of the Federalists papers. Also favored the wealthy, urban commercial interests of the nation. Hamilton created national debt and actually paid for it all through a brilliant plan of taxing whiskey. He was an official member of the Federalist party and the first secretary of treasury. He was unfortunately killed in a duel vise president Aaron Burr. He was one who was fond of and greatly admired England or Britain, which is known as...

Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr And The Future Of America By Thomas Fleming

...Duel: Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr and the Future of America, by Thomas Fleming, takes us back in time to a period in post-revolutionary America. The two-party system was in full swing it was the Federalists versus the Democratic-Republicans. Starting out in 1804, when the United States was wild and chaotic time when it came to politics. Fleming goes above and beyond in this book talking not only about the duel but what lead up to it and the events that followed after it along with their impact on the United States. And on top of that Fleming gives you a sense of the time period by adding in parts about what else is going on outside of the United States such as the rise of Napoleon. He also takes on the Burr Conspiracy and possible succession of New England....

Lin Manuel-Miranda Analysis

...A progressive voice must challenge the status quo and reinterpret what currently stands in a new way. Lin ties profanity into the story of Alexander Hamilton, a decision that would be shocking in the classroom of the old ways. In the classroom of Lin’s mind, however, he’s “on stage with the fucking roots”, performing a song about Hamilton and those “Southern Motherfucking Democratic Republicans” Lin’s refusal to follow formal rules of language shows us that he’s truly interested in pushing artistic boundaries and revising conventional storytelling. Lin’s art shows a pattern of taking the old and modeling it in modern terms. Lin sees Alexander Hamilton’s story as a “hip-hop” tale, comparing him to Biggie Smalls rather than any of his historical contemporaries, while also describing Thomas Jefferson as the “Bugs Bunny” of his time. Some historical diehards might balk at seeing Alexander Hamilton portrayed in a vulgar, common light, but according to historian Ron Chernow, Lin’s decision to tell Hamilton’s story through the common tongue is actually a rather Shakespearean method of storytelling. Lin may have sacrificed formality, but he gained more than enough in relevance. In one scene, attendants to Lin’s performance at the White House admit that Hamilton resonated with them even though they’ve felt disinterested in history for their entire lives. This confirms that Lin accomplished his overarching goal of turning Hamilton’s story into...

The Confederation and the Constitution

...The Confederation and the Constitution | | | | | Shortly after Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration of Independence in 1776, the delegates at the Second Continental Congress agreed that a new government was necessary to govern the now-independent colonies. After much debate, they drafted and adopted the Articles of Confederation in 1777. Although the Articles were not officially ratified until 1781, they served as the actual constitution until that time. Under the authority of the Articles, the states created a national Congress comprised of annually elected delegates from all thirteen states. Each state had one vote in Congress, and, in most cases, decisions were made based on majority rule. The National Congress’ powers over the states were specific and definite: it had the sole power to negotiate treaties, declare war, and make peace. It also reserved the right to maintain an army and navy and regulated interaction with Native Americans in the West. The delegates also granted Congress the power to resolve interstate disputes, grant loans, print money, and operate a national postal system. Eventually, Congress was also authorized to govern western territories until they achieved statehood. All powers not granted to Congress were reserved for state governments. Congress had no power to levy taxes. For example, it could only request that the individual states raise revenue to cover their share of national expenses. Furthermore, any amendments made to the Articles...

Bloodlines of the Illuminati

...Bloodlines of Illuminati by: Fritz Springmeier, 1995 Introduction: I am pleased & honored to present this book to those in the world who love the truth. This is a book for lovers of the Truth. This is a book for those who are already familiar with my past writings. An Illuminati Grand Master once said that the world is a stage and we are all actors. Of course this was not an original thought, but it certainly is a way of describing the Illuminati view of how the world works. The people of the world are an audience to which the Illuminati entertain with propaganda. Just one of the thousands of recent examples of this type of acting done for the public was President Bill Clinton’s 1995 State of the Union address. The speech was designed to push all of the warm fuzzy buttons of his listening audience that he could. All the green lights for acceptance were systematically pushed by the President’s speech with the help of a controlled congressional audience. The truth on the other hand doesn’t always tickle the ear and warm the ego of its listeners. The light of truth in this book will be too bright for some people who will want to return to the safe comfort of their darkness. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I deal with real facts, not theory. Some of the people I write about, I have met. Some of the people I expose are alive and very dangerous. The darkness has never liked the light. Yet, many of the secrets of the Illuminati are locked up tightly simply because secrecy is a way...
